Me and my friends used to go there in the 90s to find chicks and hang out. I remember getting lost when I was a kid not knowing how to get back to the exit by Musicland from the opposite side by KB-Toys, Babbeges and Spaceport.

Id imagine the overhead is pretty low for the owners. So as long as the income from the existing tenants covers it with enough left over = profit???

I worked in a little shop there in college in 95 and the rent was $10K a month. I bet it's nowhere close to that now.

We have a mall like that in Jackson called Metrocenter and another one headed down that same trajectory.

I'm pretty sure the original family who built it still owns the property. So if utilities and taxes are pretty much the same year to year, i would assume it is a flat cost.

It was sold in march of 2013 for 6 million to a Las Vegas development company that specializes in re-purposing dead shopping malls.

They might as well get it over with and do what they did with Bon Marche. Enclosed malls are obsolete. There's one in Austin that they tuned into a community college campus, maybe they can do that here?
