Canes and chickfila are by far the best. It's because they actually give a crap about their employees and who they hire

The first time I visited one was on a trip to NC. I was so impressed by the employees, but I thought it was just a particularly well managed store in a tourist area.

I've only been to a couple of others but they all seem to run a tight ship.

Same deal with publix. They are committed to hiring good people and they are managed well.

I THINK you have to work in a CFA for a while before you can operate a franchise. I dont think the franchise fees are very high at all, but they are incredibly selective about who they let operate. Again-finding and investing in the right people.

LMAO at the replies in this thread. The Orlando shooter was a former Chik-Fil-A employee.

They have a defined hiring standard and won't deviate from it just to have a "warm" body.

They also ask situational questions in the interview process and check references.

Helps weed out Popeye's and Burger King type of employees.

I thought they paid them a little better and had better management.

Their stores seem to be clean, their employees are friendly, and they are very quick. I've never had a problem there.

We stopped at one on the way to the beach over Memorial Day weekend and it was the busiest I've ever seen a fast food place. Drive through was out of the parking lot and five deep down the street. People parking across the street and shite.

They had two or three employees walking down the drive through line taking orders on hand held devices to speed things up.

We decided to dine in and I was amazed at what a well oiled operation they were running. One employee came to check on us and offered to get my kids a free refill. I tried to tip her, but she flat out refused it.

Companies that establish a reputation of valuing their employees and treating them well will start to attract better, more motivated, more accountable employees.

This effect gets multiplied by the fact that those types of workers want to work with other workers who are that way. They expect and are willing to perform all the duties asked of them, and do so in a respectful manner, including dirty work. They know they must get to work on time, stay late if requested, work at a fast pace, and be friendly to customers.

The converse is also true. At least some lazy workers choose jobs where they know they will not be held accountable.

Some right answers in here. Also, I'm guessing they hire more than an adequate number of people. Most big chains tend to try to run things with as few people as possible to save money wherever they can. They also must do some kind of team exercises so that everyone knows their role and they work together like a finely tuned engine. There's a lot of businesses besides food service that could benefit from some of these tactics.

Because they make their employees tell every customer to "Have a blessed day" when they hand you your order.

Successful stores depend upon the company and franchisee sticking to a time proven process and philosophy to hire and train the right people who are committed and compensated to the team and customer service concept, in order to make up for taking Sunday off, otherwise they fail...

Right. They seem to be overstaffed most of the time, but it makes it clear that they will pay more of their pocket to have satisfied customers and get responses much like the ones in this thread that are a testament to their business practices.

I used to eat fast food all the time. Now the thought of it grosses me out. All I can think about is how disgusting the kitchens probably are. Griddles that haven't been cleaned in 2 days, workers who don't wash their hands, cooking oil that hasn't been changed in god knows how long. CFA and Canes are the only places I will go to anymore.

Just read how to become a Chick Fil A operator (their version of a owner). Basically, it is almost impossible to get one. The waiting list is like a decade of you are lucky.
