Sounds like she is in denial. Go ahead and file and have the papers served on her. That'll wake her up. If you decide to tell her before she is served, do it in a public place so you have witnesses in case she tries to kill you.

If she files the paperwork before you do, then she has the advantage.
In all honesty (and as a family law paralegal), if you want a divorce, and its going to be contested, file the paperwork and have her served. That is the best way to tell her. But make sure you are not at home when she is served. If it will be amicable that will be a different set of circumstances
