Tell them that you quit and that you think they should too and that you think it is an unhealthy lifestyle that will lead to an addiction that they won't be able to break. Then tell them it's making them fat and you don't want to be an ugly fatass like them. Then, tell them that on top of being unhealthy that it's immoral and that your (insert close relative here) was killed by a drunk driver.

irrational, judgemental, or weird?For the record, the fact that you don't drink anymore doesn't come close to any one of these.
If you were a drinker like me, it consumed your life and your soul. So when we quit, all the fear of judgment came down (and is coming down for you), like a ton of bricks. It gets better! Keep stringing together days.

I use to be a heavy drinker but now I only do maybe 1 every now and then
I do a lot of entertaining with work and events and I just get a beer and nurse it all night

You're a bitch first of all for most of your posts. But....
Having done this for a year or so back in 2010. What I did is not say anything at all until they bring it up.
For example, the first thing you go to with booze around, you decline a drink and just let them know you're driving or you have a long run in the morning. Something true but usually wouldn't stop you from drinking.
Do that two or three times and they'll bring it up to you. Then you simply say "I'll drink again sometime. right now I'm trying to be healthier." Use a recent Dr's orders to cut back or some life goal or whatever.
The BIG BIG NO-NO is to brag about it and be like "I QUIT DRINKING FOREVER!" Just be subtle and don't be a judgey pussy.
