We haven't tried real gun control in this country. They have in other countries and there is not nearly the shooting problems like we have here. I'm not sure if I would agree with going with a system like England or Australia, but if you are going to try to make gun control work then you have to go all of the way.

You just ignore them.
They're usually idiots.

There is definitely gun control. We don't enforce the laws we already have.

No, there is not real gun control like what they have in England or Australia...or other places.

Thank goodness.
Wouldn't work here, and would just create a black market.

Australia did it successfully. It didn't work overnight but seems to have gradually. We do have many more gun/arms manufacturers in this country that would present a different problem of control.

Serious question, not trying to be a smartass or a contrarian, but what is the answer?
Gun control probably won't work cause the genie is out of the bottle at this point.
But is there an answer or are we just stuck hearing about these every couple weeks from now on? Honest question, I have no ideas.

Look up how Australia did it.
There is no solution of any kind that will work overnight.

It's illegal for a felon to have a gun, illegal to have a gun in the city of Chicago, illegal to conceal a gun without a permit, illegal for a person under age 18/21 to buy a gun, illegal to have a gun in several places, illegal to own a class 3 gun without lots of legal documentation (which are never used to commit crimes anyway) etc etc etc
How many felons are concealing handguns under the age of 18 in the city of Chicago?

I'm somewhat familiar with it. I'm taking about a non gun control solution.
NRA types always talk about how gun control won't work but rarely offer alternatives. If there is one I'd like to hear about it.
Trying to keep an open mind on the issue and not picking a side and rabbling about it.

Enforce the laws you already have before you start making new ones.
Until law enforcement starts cleaning up the hoods around this county nothing will change. Outlawing drives black markets and crime.

It is not real gun control when you can just bring one in from nearby Cicero. If you want real gun control then you have to limit guns everywhere in the US...like they did in Australia. The Aussies are scions of criminals...even more so than us in the US and seem to have made it work. Hunting is still allowed there.

The casualty list would be much shorter if all the Paris, Colorado and California victims had been armed. Any of those needless acts are inexcusable but the frequency will diminish when an armed populace begins to shoot back. It should be a law that everyone must be armed.
Posted on 12/2/15 at 6:49 pm to AZTiger7072
You pull a gun on them and say, "If you were armed too, i'd be dead."

Ask them if they -actually- understand why they are emotionally angry about gun related deaths as opposed to medical mal-practice. Then when they DON'T understand what you mean, be sure to point out that the news runs stories that sell... the ones that stick. The ones with agendas...
If he/she isn't busy getting angry at doctors right now then they are either a media lemming OR are showing a hypocritical double standard... unfortunately, they are likely BOTH.
Look up gun related deaths per year vs medical malpractice.
Guns are a powerful tool. They elicit strong emotional response from the gun-ignorant type of folks.
*edit*
Btw this is not my way of hating on the medical field. Simply trying to hold a mirror up to some that need to get a good look at themselves.

Pull my gun out on them, bc obviously they aren't packing, and say "whatcha gonna do bout it?"

You have 3 options, Repeal the 2nd and the Feds can do it, repeal the14th and the state's can do it, or pound sand.
