Any secrets? Products? Timing?

I did 3 coats of paint on a door yesterday, tried to pull the tape as fast as I could, but I guess the first coat had dried onto the tape enough that it peeled on some of the areas.

Use frog tape.

And pull out & down, away from the paint.

Use a razor blade and run it along the edge so that there is a clean line.

Use the best tape you can find, don't paint heavily on the edge, and peel when still slightly wet.

You need to either pull it while the paints wet and retape between coats, use a box cutter/X-acto knife at the end after all coats, or let your husband handle stuff like this.

I've had it happen when using plasti-dip, but i use a razor to cut at the tape line and it comes of no problem.

My experience is that taping causes as many mess ups at it prevents. Only use where absolutely necessary, imo.
