Do you think this is an old school pushrod motor or something?
Nah but you could find a used one with <50,000 miles on it for a third of that.

I'd like to see a link to back that up.

2012, about what I figured. That's short about 40hp at least. Also, that's closer to half of the OP motor than a third.
ETA: Didn't even bother looking at the mileage
. You should have just left the thread after your v6 comment.
And you're downvoting like a bitch

I learned over the weekend that you can purchase a rather large amount of car parts from Target online. Order online and will be in the store for pickup the next day.
Friend bought a starter this way. Half the price, for the same exact model, than the local auto parts stores were charging.

If you are going to stereotype Mustang owners, at least throw in some crowd control memes.

That link is to a Gen 1 Coyote with almost 90k miles. You're trying to say that the same as a Gen 3 out of the crate. It's also not a third of the price of a crate Gen 3 (it's almost half), nor is it under 50k miles, clownshow.
ETA: To that other guy, I do love the Mustang thirst for blood memes, though.

The Ford Mustang is the Slidell of automotive world.

The 5.0L Coyote was the first V8 Ford took seriously in a long time. It's a decent engine where the old 5.4L was an absolute boat anchor. The 4.6L was more reliable than the 5.4L, but still slow.
The 5.0L sounds better than Echoboost too.
I want Ford to bring back the Taurus, but put it on a lengthened Ford Mustang chassis. Then stick a Coyote under the hood.

5.0L Coyote has a massive DOHC valve train. It's much less compact than a pushrod setup.
Some of America's best engines use pushrods. It's a stout, compact setup with proven longevity that puts out good torque. The Chrysler 5.7L Hemi and Chevrolet small block (5.3L V8, 6.2L V8, and their new truck 6.6L V8) utilize pushrods to activate the valve train.
Ford's new medium duty gasoline 7.3L V8 (going in the 2020 Super Duty) will be a cam-in-block design just like the Chevy small block. I'd bet that an insanely powerful forced induction version of the new Ford 7.3 will find its way into the higher performance Mustangs in the future.

I loved my Mustang (2008 GT/CS, dark candy apple red). It's too bad they don't float.

The first car I ever purchased myself was a used '05 convertible mustang. I loved the shite out of that car. I'm going to get another after the last kid goes to college; Don't care what other people think. I loved driving it and totally would again.
