Trophy wife is completely about looks. If she is extremely hot and nearly every guy wants to screw her and all the women hate her, you are on the right path.
She can be completely devoid of personality/education and can be a complete worthless human being. All that matters is her looks.

The trophy part is because the husband can afford to have the wife. His prize for Winning. The first wife was just the one he could lean on in the rough times on the way to Victory.

Looks isn't the only thing she had going for her though. That's what I classify a trophy wife as, someone only good for their looks. Both Seal and Klum were highly successful before they met.
Saying Seal outkicked his coverage would be more accurate IMO.
