re: How do you answer a business phone call?

If it's internal I can see who's calling and I say hi whatever your name is. If it's external I say hello this is little billy.

Is always how I answer work phone calls.

"Hello, dis is dat." (Because dat yat would sound too pretentious.)

If I recognize the number I may answer with a, What up dog?

I try not to answer work calls. I hate talking on the phone. But, in the rare case I do "Tax department, this is Liz."

In my best Bert the Chimney sweep Cockney accent
a hearty “Allo Gov’nah!”

Or, sometimes to throw folks off: “Tax Department, This is Liz”

I answer with "eitek1 speaking".

Cuts through all the BS. If my phone rings they are looking for me.
