A guy like Brees will definitely come back, for sure. I have no doubt that he loves the community and is grateful to nola. But hands down, if I had to choose between the two, I'm raising my family somewhere other than New Orleans.

Oh, I agree. I don't blame him for not wanting to spend the rest of his life in Nola. I imagine watching the news there is terrifying for his wife when you're used to San Diego or even Austin, which is where he is from.

I was just curious as to how the kids doing school in 2 different places worked. I get if they were homeschooled, but I don't think I would have liked an arrangement like that in 4th or 5th grade when I've established a set of friends and routine etc.

The fact that he's opened quite a few Jimmy John's locations in NO metro area, become a part owner in Walk-On's, and is about to open a bunch of Dunkin Donuts locations in LA would lead me to think otherwise. Doesn't mean he's going to live in NOLA full time after he's done playing for the Saints, but I'd at least think he plans on keeping a house here and still spending a decent amount of time in New Orleans.

he can make a shite ton of money off saints fans by putting ads featuring himself drinking dunkin donuts coffee or eating sandwiches in the windows of those places

There's nothing wrong with that, but the Brees-LOVES-New-Orleans-and-will-be-mayor crowd are a bit disillusioned.

He's surely investing in a lot of business seen in Nola - Jimmy John's, dunkin doughnuts, walkons, waitr

I don't know anything about The Brees situation but I imagine it would be workable doing first half of year then switching after Christmas break. Brees has deep enough pockets to make it happen if he wanted.

Can you imagine growing up as Drew Brees' kids in New Orleans in this social media era. They would have no privacy.

I for one do not blame him a bit for his choice to raise his kids in Del Mar and i say this has someone who loves raising my kids in New Orleans.

I was hoping Brees would make his rounds back to Austin. Can't argue against SD though.

I think Brees will somehow be involved or connected in New Orleans. Great guy.

I know a lot of parents in New Orleans who leave for the entire summer and send their kids to some sort of summer school in Colorado, Mass, Vermont, Montana, etc. Then we come back in the fall to start school in La.

Nothing wrong with allowing your children to learn from different geographic experiences to expand their knowledge base. If you had the flexibility & money you would do the same thing.

maybe he's just investing his money to set himself and his kids up after he retires....as well as setting his kids up for life since he isn't planning on letting his kids play football.

I think it's safe to say the adjustment phase is over. Perhaps she just doesn't like New Orleans? Nola people Yes I know, it's crazy to suggest such a thing

This is more common than you think. I went to a private elementary school. We had a bunch of gypsies who attended. They rolled in during mid October and were gone in March. Every year. They did asphalt work in the area then went back to Ohio or Pennsylvania or somewhere.
They worked for cash, paid in cash, paid for the whole school year, so nobody cared.
