How do climate-controlled storage places reduce the presence of rodents?

They trap them and sell them to Chinese restaurants.

Cats aren't necessarily untrue. I have a maintenance barn as a shop, I normally have 1-2 stray cats that hang around. Once they have kittens, me and the amigos do kitten fights.

Lack of food and water and pest control services I guess.

If a person is renting a climate controlled, they are usuallly storing nice stuff if they are shelling out climate control storage rent.

Also normal pest control and maintenance goes a long way to keep rodents out.

It’s no different than a house really, it’s just reallly big. The plus is most decently intelligent people aren’t storing food in their unit.

Most of this is based on my experience in the operation of a 175 unit non-climate control facility. We get rats occasionally, but we just control with poison. Once rats are poisoned they generally seek water, we don’t have water in the units, so we’ve never had issues with them dying inside.

A nice storage facility is like a license to print money around here. A lot of people have a lot of stuff that they don't need, but don't want to get rid of. They fill a storage unit and pay a couple or three hundred a month and forget about it 29 days a month. One day a month, they pay the bill and I think I've got to get rid of that stuff. They then promptly forget about it until next month.
