I'm with ya. I wanted to watch the world news last night and every news channel was non-stop hurricane coverage.

I saw one about the catastrophic wind damage as they drove through a neighborhood and all the camera could pick up was a 6ft tree that got knocked over

Definitely overhyped. Was supposed to hit as a Cat 5 but a Cat 1? Please. It isn't a hurricane if it isn't a 3 here in Florida. Not even a blip on the radar.

And I laugh at that guy who thought people should've evacuated last week.

I get that there will be a lot of rain and flooding like in Houston and Baton Rouge but Florence is weak sauce my friend.

This is why people don't evacuate: The Cantore that cried hurricane.

95% of the time they drastically weaken or take a turn.

screw them. This is about the lives of people . When it comes to hurricanes people down here fully understand the magnitude of a catastrophic hurricane. Let the news boys cry all they want

I don't know why people here have to be internet assholes about this stuff.

The flooding will be bad. And for anyone who has ever been through a huge storm most would rather deal with high winds (not counting tornado's) over a short period of time than heavy rain over multiple days.

Florence is a rain/flood event. It's a little too early to call this thing "not catastrophic".

It's very catastrophic. The flooding will massive as this thing stalls. The high end wind damage was not cat 3 or 4 level but there is plenty of wide spread flooding and you haven't seen the half of it yet.

You’ve got to be one miserable piece of shite to wish more catastrophic damage on another human being.

According to the USGS rain gauge on the bridge at Atlantic Beach, 37.61" of rain has fallen in the last two days, with 20.41" coming in the last 12 hours. Unofficially, this shatters the old North Carolina tropical cyclone rainfall record set by Floyd in 1999 of 24.06". Unfortunately, as Florence lingers around the coast, the continued development of rainbands are expected to continue dumping torrential rainfall across eastern North Carolina, and the final values could be quite extreme. The bands are also beginning to creep slowly further inland so we could be seeing river flooding upstream start to mount.

I guess this is ezpz correct baw?

It's quite weird how many of you are caught up in language about this storm. This is like the 4th or 5th thread on this forum that has something to do with Florence being "underwhelming" by some posters standards. Meanwhile, the actual storm is still fricking going on.

Where has anyone said they wished it was more powerful?

People are calling out the OP for that, but he doesn’t even say that.
