It was ‘95, I was 11 (or just about to turn 11, at least). My father had bought the family our first PC and he was very proud of this. It was set up in a nook beside the kitchen, where the phone was so we could hook up to the phone line for AOL. I had two buddies who lived down the street over to play one day. We had a big fort that we had built on some of our property it back. My father owned a residential construction company and we used a lot of culled lumber and stolen fittings and tools that build it. It looked like shite, but to us it was perfect. The fort doesn’t play in to the story at all, but I just remembered it and typed out my stroll down memory lane. Anyway, we had come inside to get some kool-ade or Sunny Delight or something else to drink because we had been out riding bikes and working on the fort. My mother let me know that she needed to run to Kroger to get some stuff to fix supper that night but to help ourselves to whatever was in the fridge. As soon as she left, I looked at my buddies and said “Y’all want to check our new computer?” Now, this was 1995 and not everyone had a computer yet, so I thought I was king shite since we had one. Getting caught on the computer, not even online but just ON the computer, outside of the designated 30 minutes per day I was allowed was a cardinal sin in my house, so this was a big risk. I showed the guys a couple of games on CD-Rom that came with the purchase of the computer, and then I brought up AOL. Once I logged on, my friend, Robert, who was the oldest of the 3 of us, said “Dude... I heard you can find porn on here...”, his voice was shaking with excitement. We all exchanged glances and knew what we had to do. Some nice lady out there got naked, had someone take pictures of her, and put them on the internet. Someone had to look at them and, in fact, it would be rude not to do so. I clumsily typed “Titties” into the internet search and a world of carnal delights tumbled onto the screen like circus freaks. This was in the day when videos took hours to load, so most of it was just thumbnail pictures, but we scrolled through dozens, maybe hundreds of pictures of women in various states of undress or in the throes of passionate porking, sometimes from more than one partner. When I saw my lesbian picture, I literally lost it. I said “I think I hear my mom’s car”, and logged out. I then ran to the hallway bathroom and cleaned out my pants, though I was really unsure of what had just happened. Kids these days are spoiled with all the porn vids out there now.
