So very true. Bama's quad is always filled with chicks and their dogs. I use to walk the with dog treats in my pocket to pick up chicks. Worked like a charm.

irrelevant, inasmuch as a majority of vets are small animal practitioners.

Money.

It's not a very lucrative career unless you own a mega-clinic who charges high fees.

ib4 "because they couldn't get into medical school"
Well to start, this would be false. Harder to get into Vet school actually. But I think the real answer is this:

Women tend to make decisions more with emotion and men more with rationalization. For example, Vet and Med school require the same skillset and intense entrance requirements. Men that have these skills may initially want to be a Vet, but in the end Vets really dont make that great of money for the skill they have so the man will shift towards Med school, while the woman will stay on her emotions and continue on to Vet school

This is an extremely broad brush but it is the main underlying reason IMHO

Affirmative Action . It took a roommate 2 yrs to get accepted despite the fact that his GPA & V cat scores were top 10% of applicants. Turning the tables on a white male dominated profession. You probably stand a better shot at early entry if you apply out of state ....they love your willingness to pay oost, but they hate your arse in admissions.
That's about as it comes. I am not sure you even understand what Affirmative Action is. However, it has nothing at all to do with who gets accepted into Vet School. It is completely on qualifications. Vet school is extremely competitive and only the best of the best are admitted.

If I thought you were smart enough to argue with I'd post a link to show you the lawsuit that was filed in my state to combat racial & gender quotas in admissions, however, I don't .

And now we're starting to see a shortage of large animal vet's due to gender admission preferences.

I grew up in a vet family and my sister is a vet, I can tell you your statement is pretty accurate.

Why is it female dominated? I really don't have a definitive answer except that female's lean more towards animal health than the modern male.

That being said, male vets are way better, imo... female vet's do a lot of dumb shite and are less competent as a whole, this is a fact.

I have no data to back this up but I was told by a retired male veterinarian that there is not as much money in being a vet as there once was so fewer males are going into the profession.
Just repeating what he told me.

What's the starting salary range in br? Gf is doing the vet thing, but can never give me a good number...except how much debt she will have.

Sounds like your bias is based, in large part, on your experience with your stupid whore sister euthanizing a metric frick ton of animals.

I have no data to back this up, but I did have sex with her, numerous times.

I have a client who is a male veternarian - works mainly with large animals. He loves what he does but he doesn't make hardly any money at all.

He's told me on multiple occasions that vet school is just about as expensive as med school, yet, the earnings are much, much lower.

The vet we use told me a couple of years ago that she makes about 85K at the clinic she works at, and she borrowed 210K for vet school. She said she picks up extra shifts whenever she can on weekends and holidays.

With those finances, you have to really love what you do.
