You can learn how to fly a plane by watching the movie Airplane.

Flight simulators are extremely realistic pertaining to controls and operation. A person could readily learn there. I cannot believe that dude rolled that aircraft. That video is surreal.

Kind of wish he didn't die. Would like to see the interviews with him.

Yeah, I always figured if you got a commercial aircraft in a roll it was just gonna auger in.

Quite a compliment to the planes manufacturers.

In all seriousness once he got off the ground is it really that hard to fly around at altitude? He ultimately crashed it’s not like he really knew what he was doing.

I don't understand everyone complimenting his barrel roll. A normal barrel roll is supposed to start and finish at the same altitude. He said he felt like he needed to be at 5000 feet and he nearly put it in the water. I'm guessing all he did was stick over, aka an aileron roll. Not that hard to do.

I don’t think flying around is very tough if you have some basic familiarity with it. The roll was pretty impressive.
Not only doing it, but having the balls to attempt it. helps if you’re suicidal.

A suicidal nutcase rolled a commercial airliner that he frickin stole, and we're taking away points for degree of difficulty?

He did that shite for attention. He doesn't get to choose if it's critical or not.

He was in a commercial turbo prop. Not a stunt plane or military plane. I give him full credit, even though he was suicidal

Suicide is always tragic but goddamn if this wasn't the most impressive one I've ever heard of. Dude sounded almost giddy when he was talking to ATC, almost like he had the time of his life then said OK there's an island where I won't hurt anybody I'm done.
