In college, think something like the blox.

I knew someone who lived here and they were in a furnished one. It was postage stamp sized, but I remember it being kinda art-deco and cute.

My first place was a duplex on Jennifer Jean because I needed a place to live last minute and had pretty much $0 to my name. Total shithole. I never slept there.

From there, everything ranged from okay to pretty nice. Garden District house was small/old as all houses in the area are, but it was cute. Next apartment on Brightside was fine. A lot of trashier people living there, but not unsafe or dirty. Townhome on Perkins by Campus Federal was very nice. The owners of my unit kept it in great condition.

It was a shithole on State St., 2 BR for $380 total. It was the top floor of duplex and half of it was noticeably slanted downward. The bedrooms and living room were large at least, but that place was bad.

We also had a raccoon living in the pantry for a while... it could go from there to under the bathroom sink and inside the tub wall. Sometimes I would be taking a shower and you could hear it running laps.

Convenient location though.

Bathroom sink couldn't fit in the bathroom. And you couldn't use the bathroom sink if the bedroom door was open.

And that place was fricking covered up in brown recluses.

Studio in Gainesville. Homeless people bathed in the pool. Part of the concrete pool deck collapsed on my car. The sewer backed up into the shower once. Another night I woke up around 3 am because my Rasta drug dealing neighbor was tapping on my window and talking to my cat.

I got really lucky the first time I moved out on my own. I found a newly fully renovated apartment in Spanish Town in a building full of crap apartments. The fact that none of the others had been renovated made my rent low (around 500). The people in Spanish Town aren't really my type but it was cool living next to the downtown area.

Mine was a new apartment, I’m pretty sure we were the first to live there. Lived there with two of my friends. I believe rent was around $1100 total for a 3 bedroom 2 bath.

Post college, El Cid June ‘74-76. A/C was out for several days when I moved in. Similar apartments in college. Moved out when they raised the rent for the second time to about $215/ mo.

Plantation trash.

It wasn’t bad. Never had any real issues and my neighbors were all great. 2x1.5 townhome for $525.

We thought that was so expensive. Baton Rouge has a ridiculous market now.

Teakwood Village was the equivalent to a Las Vegas Villa.

I'm the opposite. I would love to live in Spanish Town/Beauregard Town.

Plantation Trace the big white buildings on highland? That place always looked loaded with poors and immigrants everytime we stopped by there.

Friend of mine lived in Teakwood around 2011-2012. Very old style but it seemed nice and affordable the times I visited.
