This show I know you have never taken economics. The uneducated will destroy this country through ignorance. fricking commies

You’ve really gone off the deep end, man. You’ve devolved from the quirky, slightly-out there guy who lives in the wilderness to full-blown loon with rage issues. You don’t know anything about my education level, and you certainly wouldn’t be able to glean it from a post about me laughing at the use of “crony capitalism.” I can tell you my profs certainly didn’t teach us that in business school, and they all had a hard-on for Friedman, and half of them were only moonlighting as teachers (their day jobs were a couple miles south, on Wall St), so it wasn’t because the b-school was some bastion of liberalism. These guys fricking loved capitalism, but they weren’t fricking stupid enough to believe it was fair. In fact, they loved it specifically because it wasn’t fair—it favored them.

They LOVE that idiots like you think free-market isn’t a joke, just like Google, FB, et al love it. They all keep profiting off your ignorance and your willingness to let them do their thing, and they’ve even gotten you to help them keep doing it! “No intervention because that’s bad.” They can’t believe their luck

I laid it out pretty simplistically in my last post. If you can’t follow that, then it’s probably not worth continuing. The takeaway, though, is that true free-market capitalism is a myth over time because it leads to consolidation of power and that leads to pay-for-play. We’re living in it now. You think politicians have the power to stop Google? you think people with the power of Google aren’t going to use that power to stay in power?

It’s over.

I didn’t say they were immoral: I said they were amoral. It wasn’t a typo

You don’t trade much in nuance, huh?

Well, actually not.

Most problems in the world can be solved with a proper dosage of 5.56 and /or .308 "medicine".

Lest ye forget, this nation and all it's forms of economic variance are built upon the blood and sweat of those brave souls in our historical past who chose to start from scratch.

It can...and may, happen again.

Back in reality, capitalism has reduced poverty from 80% of the world’s population in the 1800s to less than 10% today.

Basically he is what you soys feared Trump was.

I can't speak for these "soys", but I can tell you the exact reasons I have never supported Trump.

- I knew he pretty much single handedly caused the USFL to fail because he wasn't able to become president of the league.

- The NFL team owners voted against him buying the Buffalo Bills.

- He filed for bankruptcy 5 times. When he filed for bankruptcy on the Taj Mahal in New Jersey, he left contractors high and dry.

- He isn't not able to get a loan from any US bank.

- He failed in all of the following
* Trump Airlines
* Trump Beverages
* Trump: The Board Game
* Trump Casinos
* Trump Magazine
* Trump Mortgage
* Trump Steaks
* Trump Travel Site
* Trump Comms Company
* Trump Tower Tampa
* Trump University
* Trump Vodka

Now.. How does someone who is supposed to be some successful business man fail in pretty much every thing he has tried? His ONLY success has been in real estate ONLY because of his dad.. And his stupid TV show The Apprentice.

Trump is a pro wrestler. He has created this image of himself that everyone bought into. He created a real reality TV show and uses Twitter to control the narrative. He understands the power in numbers and will use anything to create division because he knows he can say whatever and people listen to anything he says.

Anyway, the point is.. Anyone is better than Donald Trump.

I think you nailed the effect but you’re off on the cause. The problem isn’t capitalism, it’s government. The freedom of the market is inversely proportionate to the power of the government. In any system(feudal, capitalist, communist etc), you will have the rich and powerful influencing the lawmakers to tip things in their favor. Unfortunately, the free market isn’t able to keep the government limited.

At least Trump tried things - even if they failed - at least it shows initiative and possibly charisma

It’s better than people who do absolutely nothing but continue to gain power because they manipulate or lie

Who criticized whether or not this is mainstream? Your former Sec of State John Kerry said it was needed “to kill populism” at the world ec forum. Mind you that this is a guy that married into BILLIONS. And some think this is tinfoil hat BS.

Issue #1: the market favors them specifically bc it isn’t free. Our government is constantly meddling in our markets, to the benefit of their Wall St lobbyists
