I know it hasn't worked out well in practice but where else would you put it? If you're trying to promote a black man with a positive message I'd argue that the black ghetto is the most appropriate place for it.

Just a few days ago a friend of mine told me he was once in a town in S. LA where the MLK Blvd was in a nice part of town -- but he couldn't remember the name of the town.
Anybody know what town that might be?

I really wish it wasn’t like that. MLK is an important figure and I think having a street named after him somewhere is appropriate. It’s just always in a dump...
