The average male? No.

But we are not anywhere close to a societal collapse.

Not close at all.

I do think we’re headed for a political collapse, though.

Stop going to political message boards. Stop reading click me news sites. Talk to your friends. Go to a park/library. Society is fine unless you allow yourself to to taken over by propaganda on the left or the right.

This implies that you are aware of how close we are to full societal collapse

8 mil illegal immigrants have walked across our border in the last 6 months.

How many homeless people are living in this country now compared to a decade ago?

Do you feel we are on a sustainable trajectory?

I am implying that MANY people are completely oblivious to the modern threats that we are facing

That would be interesting. Do you mean an Independent winning due to a rise of the silent majority in this country that are pretty much middle of the road politically?

I think we're in far more danger of an authoritative society than a societal collapse. In that sense I would argue that the present danger is too much society.

More of the same will continue to happen, society won't collapse, it will just keep getting worse. Watch the movie Idiocy, that is were we are headed.

No civil wars, things will just continue to get worse. No matter of what party is in charge.

I want to gauge how in tune people are with what is going on right now.

Is that genuine, or is it more along the lines of you wanting to know how in tune people are with what you believe is going on right now?

I think authoritarianism is a big risk but I think massive, Argentinian style inflation is what will sink the empire. Particularly if the dollar stops becoming the World's reserve currency.

Kind of. I think that both parties are racing towards their extreme poles so quickly that in another decade or so, the majority of Americans won’t “identify” with either major party. I think at that point, we start seeing major pushes for things like ranked choice voting, pulling taxpayer funding for political primaries, etc. Then things start to get interesting.

That’s why both major parties are in the process of vilifying ranked choice voting, or like in Louisiana, jungle primary systems. They know the tide is shifting from the red and blue poles, so they are doing what they can now, structurally, to try to stave off the flood.

Do you feel that there is no threat of a great depression or worse type of collapse in our lifetime?

FWIW, humanity has been predicting the imminent fall of man since BC times.
