Did you forget that you're living in Louisiana and Louisiana has had the same problems for many decades? No one gives a shite about your self-important "tax dollars" or that you came here because you can "live like a king" and all that great stuff. My contribution would be to say that if I feel I am living like a king somewhere, but I bitch and moan and hate everything around me all the time while feeling that everywhere else is better than where I'm at, then I'm going to do what I have to do and get the F out so I can enjoy my life. Louisiana's biggest problem is that we aren't doing anything to attract high paying jobs to the state.
This is certainly not the only reason that people are leaving but I'd bet a better employment situation is the primary one.
We keep electing the same people and expecting different results.

The people who start these threads and keep them going are usually the ones who feel beat by the system in the state of Louisiana and feel like there is no upward or social mobility. Anyone who worked hard enough to achieve anything they can be proud of has a much different attitude.

I've said numerous times on this board that I've made a good living in this state. I do think the ability to do so is somewhat industry specific though.
