According to Google

quote:

There are many ways to improve Baton Rouge, including:

Repairing homes

Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge is an organization that repairs homes, revitalizes communities, and rebuilds lives. They focus on serving impoverished elderly homeowners, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Addressing faults

The Baton Rouge fault system can cause damage to roads, pavement, and building structures over decades. Human activities like drainage alteration and groundwater withdrawal may have increased the rate of movement along these faults.

Improving the cost of living

Baton Rouge's cost of living is lower than the national average, with housing costs up to 20% lower than neighboring southern metros. The median home price in Baton Rouge remains on par with the U.S. average.

Step 1: leave criminals in jail
Step 2: build a loop

The first step is fund the DA, Sheriff, and BRPD to raise pay to whatever it takes to be fully staffed and operating at 100%.

Then put judges in place who actually give a shite and will punish the criminals who go in and out of Parish Prison for their entire lives.

Then build a mega modern jail that can house more than we could ever dream of housing, but requires less staff than the current jail.

Finally, you have to somehow attract business and gentrification to resurrect NBR. Hopefully, the crime rate will be low and Jeff Landry will do enough to attract business that we stop losing every half-intelligent LSU grad to other states.

It will take decades to be fully realized but is not impossible.

Bulldoze everything between LSU and downtown and renovate the area.

Shops, hotels, restaurants, live music, comedy, etc.

Prisoner exchange with other cities and states. Commit a crime, you don’t get to hang with your homies in your local jail, you gone to someplace random to serve your sentence. Currently jail is not a deterrent nor a punishment for criminals. For others is represents freedom from all responsibilities. 3 hots and a cot Beats homelessness.

You clean up Baton Rouge the same way that you clean up any area. You have to have people and policies in place that encourage behavior that is beneficial to society and discourage behavior that is not beneficial to society.

Everything starts at home with a good family unit. I'm not sitting here and saying that it is an edict to have a two-family home, but you have to have at least one parent that is very involved and connected with their children.

We also have to extend this Behavior into the schools. You need to bring in quality Talent that can work hard with these kids and you are not competing against retail stores for talent. At the same time, these teachers need to be able to have the authority and Power in the classroom to be the boss and not let kids take over. Once again, we have to discourage this negative behavior.

A big problem is repeat offenders. The 3 strikes law is a good idea, but it should just be life without parole regardless of felony. The ghettos of BR and other cities are breeding grounds of crime and domestic terrorism. Too many innocent people live in fear because of soft on crime policies.

Nice guy... probably has some good ideas. But any vote for him is a vote for Broome.

Ted James is the only one who can beat Broome.

Without good leadership it will never improve. When a certain demographic has had enough and quits voting along racial lines to have one of their own in office this is what happens to a city. I have lost all hope.

Over the last decade+, the overwhelming majority of my clients, probably 75% or higher, wanted to be moved from EBRPP or resisted being brought back once they were shipped out of parish. The idea that people want to be at EBRPP isn’t reflective of reality.

If you could somehow convince fathers to raise their children while also having less of them

Well said..

I'd probably add that Women not look at children as tax breaks and financial support and actually raise them.

Those 2 things alone would create a better environment for public schools and allow the already good teachers in public school to show what they can do. Not to mention attract other good educators.

Do what I did. Move out of BR and preferably the state.

Louisiana has made it clear they would rather attract and keep free loaders than keep working people so give them what they want and abandon it.
