Where is this treble damages gravy train I'm missing out on?

What did southern states like SC AL and GA do to attract auto manufacturing to their states
1. Massive tax breaks and incentives.
2. Ready access to huge seaport complexes in Savannah and Charleston
3. Right to work labor states with low unionization.
4. Good university systems with ready access to education and academic research.

Louisiana's infrastructure was decades out of date thirty years ago, and every time I'm home I'm amazed at how little it's changed. The combination of NIMBYism and corruption has prevented the state from moving forward, even compared with other southern states.

Because with the exception Alabama, each state has one or more cities that are excelling.

Think of how many finance and accounting student leave LA to go work at a big 4 accounting firm, how can we not get at least one of them to have an office in BR?
They have KPMG in BR, and all 4 in NOLA...

The tax incentives definitely worked in bringing big budget movie projects to LA but at what cost?
Exactly. An industry that is notoriously nomadic and locust-like. Louisiana focused on the wrong industry.

Fairly certain the state of Louisiana lost money over the film credits deals, no matter what Jindal claimed

hang the plaintiffs' lawyers and I expect industry to flood into the state
Yea....because other states do not have plaintiff lawyers, a tort system, and people who insurance companies wanna jack over. That'll work. So sick of this knee-jerk reaction from the "I'll believe whatever they tell me crowd". Dude, did you know that business vs business litigation cost corporations MUCH more than Johnny Lunch-Bucket who got creamed by a multiple exile truck driver who decided to be distracted. You could take all of the "Johnny Lunch-Bucket" lawsuits that the TV ambulance chasers scrap together and it would;t be the pimple on the arse of corporate vs corporate litigation.

Higher causative burden of proof for trebled damages
Treble Damages???? What pipe have you been smoking, cuz we really do not have those in tort law. Sounds like someone got hot with an Unfair Trade Practice lawsuit. Lord knows we need to quash those....everytime I turn around I see a TV lawyer out to get a Unfair Trade Practice case.

Have you guys tried raising taxes, avoiding investments in infrastructure, or fighting independent school districts? Maybe try electing a few more tax-and-spend Democrats or "conservatives" that don't ever support legislation to reduce spending.
Sounds like a great plan

New idea: Give Amazon a really good deal on a new headquarters in Louisiana.
Louisiana doesn't have the infrastructure. There's a reason that Amazon has so many data centers in Northern Virginia. Plus they'd never be somewhere where a natural disaster could cause so much damage to them.

They are already located on a fault line and near several volcanoes.
Long-Term Seismic risk map from U.S. Geological Survey
And the volcanoes on the Cascade Range include Mt. St. Helens AKA the most economically destructive volcanic event in US history.
