We could start treating the mentally ill instead of electing them

Again, the question that I ask is that why were these types of shootings incredibly rare for the majority of the 20th century, with firearms easily accessible? What changed? I know I have my opinion, but it's a question not enough people are asking.

I think it most cases it’s a combination of social media, media, publicity, mental health, political motivations, decline in family and religious values. And I do think those are places that we should target.

But still the Vegas shooter fits none of those profiles as we seemingly had no motives or history. Again that is a super rare case but a grim realization that a seemingly normal person can game any system you put in place to do evil things.

How can American society fix this mass shooter phenomenon?

-Enforce the gun laws that are already on the books.
-Demand that our politicians stop gutting mental healthcare in this country.
-Go back to embracing personal responsibility led and taught by the two parent family structure.
-Stop being soft on legitimate mental health issues. Telling everyone they are fine and the world is the problem is not working. The mentally ill need treatment, not coddling and excuse making.

Hold people accountable for their actions and their actions alone. Stop trying to blame everything and everyone in society except for the evil that actually committed the crime.

This line is tired and inaccurate.

In almost all of these cases, the shooter was actively being treated for some mental issue. Personally, I think there is a bigger problem with the medications we are giving people than the underlying issues themselves.

When you have a society whose moral standard is, it’s okay to kill unborn children in the womb, murders will continue.

Geraldo had the nerve to feign outrage at the killing of “innocent” children today, yet a couple of weeks ago he voiced his support for his daughter’s rights to choose!

No one should be surprised that young people can pull the trigger so easily, they live in a culture of death.

Bring back the mafia and let them run the big cities like the early 1900’s. I’m pretty sure they’d take back the streets and neighborhoods in the big cities and the country folks can handle themselves if the riff raft starts moving from cities to rural America

Bring back asylums
Half of the Democratic Party would end up in these asylums.

That’s probably why they’re against it.

You apparently have no knowledge of mental illness if you think a psychopath that has not already acted in some manner can be identified with some type of in office interview.

Maybe there are more shootings, but have been numerous school bombings early in the last century, in 1927 43 were killed in a bombing at a school in Michigan.

These types of weirdos get no titties in their face. I guarantee you if these basement dwelling internet addicted dweebs would get some p@55y in their lives they would be less violent.

There was a part of the pickup artist that mentioned this - men who get attention from women are less likely to be violent.

Maybe there’s a way to get these losers laid? Tough ask…

Every single weapon in this country should be registered.

Every single gun owner should have to pass meticulous screening.

It literally always comes down to parenting.

Stop bringing politics into the household
Teach your kid right from wrong
Raise your kid with morals over ideals
Stop trying to be your kids friend..that's not your fricking job
Stop ignoring obvious red flags
If you see a major red flag, act on it. Your kid is a liability unless you act like a parent and get them help
Stop being a pussy and avoiding confrontation with your shithead teenager when he/she is being a shithead

Kid's don't pop out of the womb killers...stop failing them as parents

May not happen in our lifetime but maybe in our children’s or grandchildren’s. It really seems like the only solution to a severely flawed country we have right now and the divide between the right and the left and society as a whole has never been farther apart.

Things aren’t getting better fiscally or socially and when both sides can’t have civil discourse because both are trying to prove how idiotic the other is then it’s just time to start over.

Up vote, Sir. Half the people you know are on some kind of antidepressants, anxiety, or other phycosis meds.

You're confusing causation and correlation. If tens of millions of people are on antidepressants, and antidepressants "cause" these shootings like you're suggesting, wouldn't there be hundreds more?

Did you ever think that perhaps a leading cause is mental illness, and that many mentally ill people also happen to be taking medication to treat it?

Put another way you're saying that mental health treatment is the cause, not mental illness. That's absurd.

Open the fricking mental hospitals back up and commit the crazy people for life if needed... The damn government closed inpatient institutions for "fairness" issues and turned them lose on society... All the nuts are living under bridges and killing our kids. Lock the loonies up again. This is the issue...
