Just saw that a kid I knew in college got married and took his wife’s last name instead of vice versa.

Is this a common thing or am I right in saying this guy is a soy boy cuck?

I'd do it gladly if I married some super-wealthy chick.

Call be TheCaterpillar Swift baby.

What if you married a very wealthy woman and taking her name was part of the prenup agreement before you married?

You would still refuse?

don't know about him, but you sound like a pretty big bitch for worrying about what he does in his marriage. do you feel threatened by what he does?

Lol, pretty damn beta for sure.

ETA: Are they Jewish or some other religion or ethnicity that does this maybe? I simply mean Judaism follows lineage through the mother, so maybe its something like that?

My policy is I don't care if my future wife takes my last name and I don't think women should be pressured into it by men. I get a lot of push back from this from my friends who say they'd be insulted if their wife didn't take their name but the way I see it is I would never change my name for them so I would never ask/force them to do the same for me and I believe that's fair. If they want to do it then they are free to do so.

I dated a girl for awhile that wanted me to take her name if we got married. She said it was fairly common. Until now, that is the only time I ever heard of it. I said No!

Everyone would agree to this for sure.

Given that, every single wealthy person I've met wants their daughter to marry an alpha male and therefore the parents would never ask this. Sure it can cause some issues with privately held businesses passed down to heirs but they still do it.

Maybe she was the last of her name and he had brothers who have sons already and wouldn’t be the last of his.

I know a lot of guys who married really wealthy girls and this does not happen. If it does, then don’t court her, you’ll hate her father.

I wouldn't. That type of person would most likely be controlling as shite, and I do ok on my own not to have to put up with that for money

What if the guy has no attachment to his last name because his dad was a piece of shite?
