How bad were the houses you lived in during college?

Or were you a college baller?
One had a hole in the floor in the closet. I kept a book over it and at night could kick the book off and pee on the ground if i was too drunk to make it to the bathroom.
There was another that was a straight up flop house. there was always at least two people living there who weren't on the lease, just crashing on the floor. It got a mouse infestation and we went to war with them. Caught about 20 inside and then adopted a cat for the garage. we saw it maybe twice. the food kept disappearing and then about 2 months after getting the cat i went in to the garage at 2 am and there were 4 coons eating the food. never saw the cat again.
lived across from the staring motel. bus stop in the yard. woke up to rap battles and bum fights on the regular. the roof leaked in a about 5 places but the rent was cheap.

I had nice houses.
That grey house on morning glory and Stanford with the red S on it. The green Bay Packers colored house on Acadian near government and a large house that was built originally as Blaze Starr's whorehouse, on Nicholson (torn down, RIP)

The house was old and the foundation sank. The sewage line was basically leveled out. Every time it rained heavily everything back flowed in to the basement or the shite pit as we called it.

Power Dorm...shithole
Sharlo Townhouse...awesome
Frat house...no complaints
Apt. On Ned Avenue (during the Rodney King incident)...shithole, but my neighbors were cool. I think they felt sorry for my being the only white guy in their hood.
Sharlo townhouse...awesome

No central heating or air in Oxford and the walls were essentially cardboard.
Ed Osteen and I wore ski clothes to bed to 10 degree winters.
But it was on the square, which is rare, and the greatest place I’ve ever lived.

Sounds like it was awesome! Layering up does suck though

Power dorm. I heard that was the only dorm worse than Nicholson Hall. Prayers sent. Nicholson was so shitty they moved us into the Kappa Sig house. Though it was literally next to tiger stadium which was nice and right next to Lockett and the art building. Used to get up at 8:50 for 9am class.

You can’t sleep (literally) on how cold Oxfahrt can get in Winter.
The couple of degrees of latitude that separate UM & LSU are a big deal in how cold each place gets at night in Winter.
Generally speaking, it’s eight to ten degrees colder in Oxpatch than BR in Winter when cold fronts come through.
And Oxford gets many more snow/sleet/ice events than BR.

Usually way too drunk to care about the weather
We had parties basically every night. People would just show up at our house.
I once kept calling a friend of mine a pussy, who happened to be a backup LB on the football team. He speared me in the living room through a wall.
I don’t mean a big dent in the wall, I mean part of my body came out the other side like road runner through a tree in cartoons. It didn’t have studs in the dry wall inside and pretty sure none of the house had insulation.
No locks on doors either. Had to chain my TV to big arse furniture when I left town.

When I went to brcc I lived at the Alamo motel. Free coffee and they’d come flip the mattress for you every morning

I lived in a trailer off river road freshman year, and in a sharlo townhouse the remaining 3 years. They were both actually pretty nice, and neither was super expensive.
I never understood how people could live in shite holes. Even on a tight budget you can find someplace simple and clean.

Power dorm shite hole
Frat house
Some townhouse out Gardere, new so no complaints
House of highland on Dentation, cinder block exterior walls, some might consider a shite hole but we loved it and it cost 100 bucks a month each

New Orleans has a bunch of old mansions that were chopped up into one-bedroom apartments.

Hatcher Dorm next to the stadium
Tiger Plaza Appts.
Nothing too bad and years of a walk across the street to Fred’s and Sports.
