Mine has always been borderline unreadable. Hasn’t really hurt me in life, because from high school on, basically everything has been computer work.

Now, I find myself retired and having to write a little more. I think my handwriting is actually improving a little, because I focus on it more and frankly, have a lot more time!

Mine is average and legible. If I am in a rush, or write something in cursive, it gets a little clunky.

My wife is an assistant principal and she said they started teaching cursive again in 2017 (Louisiana passed a law).

I'm not from La. but I heard that it was stopped being taught in school.

That was grueling work to learn cursive, but I think it helps teach proper grammar and sentence structure when you practice it.

I find it a lot faster to write in cursive than to print each letter and diacritical mark.

I looked it up just to see:

I'm 67 and through the years of working in offices, my cursive morphed into half cursive, half printing. Its easier to read than anyone's cursive handwriting. No one ever says they can't read it.

My 91 year old mom still writes everything in cursive. I have trouble reading it. Everyone does. I took a letter and mailed it certified for her. The lady at the post office couldn't read the name of the street my mom had written. She and I had to guess.

Other than signing my name, I never write just cursive anymore.

I think it's a situation where the feds don't test kids writing, so they don't spend much time on it.
