I got a jump start on the year. When 2020 rang in I was in a medically induced coma due to having survived a plane crash but being burned on 75% of my body (among other injuries). I lost one of my best friends and have been in a dog fight ever since.

This further puts my struggles in perspective. I'm terribly sorry this happened to you.

Never lost job or any income. Brought a daughter into the world. Family is healthy. Made a killing in the stock market. All in all it’s been pretty good personally.

I feel bad echoing this comment, since so many are struggling, but it’s been a very good year for me professionally and with my family. I’m in an industry where people were regularly working from home prior to the pandemic, and now my company will most likely operate that way permanently. I much prefer it to reporting to an office every day.

The pandemic needed to happen so I could get laid off from a job I hated and where I was vastly underpaid so I could find my new position working from home and getting paid 50% more. Along with my March/April fire sale stock buys I have had one of my best years ever.

But I'm ready for this shite to be done. Really miss the concert trips with the baws.

Mixed bag. No job loss but I have to work from home and I don't like it. Mom passed away, but I got to see my siblings and other relatives.

On the bright side, her BFF has thrown herself at you. Lock the dogs outside, and close the deal with the ex’s friend.

I'm not a huge fan either but I think being able to live where I want would be a big enough benefit for me to consider doing it permanently.

I'd absolutely have to put in a backyard office or something like that though so I could separate my work space from my home. Something like this.

If it were permanent? I agree. I would move to my dream town. However its just keeping me from my coworkers who I really like, and making it more difficult to do my job.

I could dig it if I were told it was going to last.

I'd do some upgrades to my home office now if I knew how long this was going to last but I haven't been given any information on a potential return date.

I don't think my current job will ever go 100% remote but there are plenty of them in my field.

I can easily do my job from home if set up correctly. I am not, the decision to move me out of the office came abruptly a couple of weeks ago and some of the things I require are still in flux. It would be easier if permanent.

But I still miss my coworkers.. We talk via skype during the day but it ain't the same. Plus cabin fever is real.

nope, 3 weeks before the stroke the Economic Recovery project with the State of Texas for Harvey was pulled ..due to pandemic concerns I was the liaison for County officials in the 49 Counties, so it was all public interaction

so the project as placed on hold and since I was a contractor the income and insurance ended

there is never a good time to stroke out but there is a worst time

Yep, sometimes I just go to the gas station or drive around a bit at lunch just to get out of the house

I'm putting like 150 miles per month on my truck.

Have my health restored,a job and wits about me. Had some 4 sets of major home related to failures from HVACand plumbing, none of them hurricane related. Can't cry over them, just have to suck it up and see what happens.
All in all 2020 gets zero stars.
