Pour it down your bathtub drain. No harm, no foul. Done it many times.

Home Depot and lowes sell a powder to pour in the paint to solidify for desposal.

if it's still wet, give it to a paint recycler like the Green Project. If that isn't an option, leave the lid off and let it dry, then put a bag of trash in your can, then put the paint can in a bag, then put another bag of trash on top of it.

I keep my metal scrap behind the garage until I have a decent bit, then call this deaf Honduran man to come pick it up. It's funny because I have to talk through a TTY operator. I used to bring in my own scrap, but the yard dropped an engine block on my truck one time and I flipped out on the guy and long story short I can't go there anymore..

If it's latex paint open it up and let it dry out. If it's oil-based, it's hazardous waste that needs to be properly disposed of. Baton Rouge has an annual collection day where you can drop off household chemicals. Most places have something similar.

Our company disposes of paint waste but there is a charge. As others have said, let it dry out then you can put in trash if there is less than a 1" layer left

Easiest way is to put it your car on the night before trash pick up and drive about a mile away and put the cans beside somebody else's receptacle. Trash guy might leave it there with a note telling the people they can't dispose of their extra paint. It is those peoples problem from then on.....amrite baws?
