Anybody taken one of them? How full?
Skeptical that that market can consistently fill an A320.

I know a guy who loves Frontier, swears by them. He is out of Cleveland has taken close to 50 flights around the US via Frontier. Sometimes he post screen shots and he gets flights for 30-50 bucks.
I've used Spirit plenty of times which is a similar type of airline and as long as you know what to expect it isn't a bad flight. Issue is people show up with a carry-on and check-in luggage thinking they won't get charged, then when they do they flip out.
Even larger airlines are doing the same thing as Delta and others have a basic pass that only allows you to bring a book sack or something.

took it saturday to denver. was the first time i used them and was pleasantly surprised. The plane going back and forth is pretty new and the seating is more spacious than other carriers. the flight to denver took 2 hours and 15 minutes. In flight service was great, they were very friendly and courteous. the flight probably had 10-15 seats empty. For a "thanksgiving" flight i figured it would have been full.
for the wife and i the round trip for both of us totaled 400 and then the baggage fees were $35x4. We did not bring any carry ons since it was a short direct flight.
edit: doing rough math calculations if you average out the seat/checked bag/carry on it comes out to around 225 (probably less) per seat. Plane seats 80 i believe so if its a full plane they are looking at gross of 18,000 for a 2 and half hour flight. Don't know the expenses of a plane that size per hour but to me 18k just doesnt seem profitable.

I’ve booked a total of 1 flight with this company. It was cancelled and 2 months later, I’m still waiting for my $500 reimbursement for the SWA flight to get home.

As long as the plane doesn’t crash who cares?
On the reverse side frick frontier for shipping all those coonass undesirables to our nice cities. This is basically the mega bus for coonasses. None of us in nice places are ever going there

If you were standing in front of me I’d knock your teeth down your throat.
And it works both ways, bitch. We don’t want your fake lumberjack, skinny jean wearing, hipster asses down here either.

frontier goes to new orleans. none of us hipsters would even consider lafayette. even the marginally redeeming quality of lafayette are 10x better in new orleans. hell at least lake charles has casinos.

DOT passenger and load factor data wont be available for their October flights until January, but when it is I can pull it and post it.
A good sign is that it is still in the schedule. Frontier is notorious for throwing things at the wall to see if they stick, and then pulling it down just as quickly. If it isn't performing (think 80%+ full) they will take the planes and point them elsewhere.

They have the lowest paid workers in the industry by far. The pilots make less then half of what the legacy airline crews are making with worse benefits same goes for the flight attendants, ground crews, MX, etc. they make a killing by exploiting cheap labor. I’ve been recruited by them twice and each time I had to resist the urge to laugh. The pilots may be getting a raise soon but they’ll still be the worst paid pilots in the profession.

And even if it does crash you won't have any worries to deal with. Win-win.

I was working in Seattle, two weeks there, and come back to NOLA for one week. This would be my schedule for 6months. On my first flight to Seattle to start working there, I had two large trunks of equipment to bring. At the check in counter, they wanted to charge me a couple of hundred dollars for the two trunks. I bitc h ed about the charge and told them I would be flying quite a bit with them on the next six pmonths. They checked the reservations I had already made for the next couple of flighrs. They waived the extra charge for the trunks, and agreed to also not charge me for the return of the trunks to NOLA after my hitch in Seattle was done.
So I flew Frontier a bunch of times in that 6 months going NOLA to Seattle round trip and never h ad a problem one time. The only flight that was a problem was once when I was waiting in Denver for the Denver to NOLA leg and in that couple hour period the snow came down so much that the airport closed to flights until the next day.

I flew round trip to Denver a few weeks ago and had a really good experience. Our flight was full but the seats weren't any smaller than flying coach on a major airline. Flight was smooth and service was fine. I crammed everything into a backpack to avoid carry on charges and spent $82 total for a round trip. Can't beat it at that price.

They just started flying out of Huntsville to Orlando and Denver. I’ve flown to Orlando once and will do it again next week. Flight was a hit 2/3 full each way. Maybe a little less. Stewardess told us they were adding direct to Vegas out of HSV in the near future. I think they will do well in HSV because we don’t have Southwest.
