Cypress, Fairfield. No power. It has been out since 2am, give or take. I'm ready for summer.

shite is ridiculous

My parents in Nottingham Country lost power for 3 hours way back last night around 5. They’ve had it since 8pm last night. In-laws live over close to Vintage off 249. They’ve yet to lose power. Have family friends in Fulshear that haven’t had power since 2am. My old neighborhood off meuschke/290 had yet to lose power. My house in Bridgeland lost at midnight and got it back at 3. Some of the neighborhood still doesn’t have power.

Absolutely unacceptable.

We are in Grand Mission, one side of the hood is out for 22hrs

One side never lost power
I can see the side with power from my front door
100yds from my house are street lights that never lost power. While we sat in the cold and the dark

Very weird

Boom! Power just came back on! League City!

We were all sleeping out in the living room by the fireplace but I noticed a flashing light that I thought looked like it was coming from beyond the neighbors house. Kept thinking it might be the power company. About an hour later the lights came on in my living room and the heater kicked on.

And just like that, it's out again.

frick!

Glad I didn't get the family all back in their beds right away. Was going to let the house warm up a bit. But just as I was about to carry my 4 year old to bed, there go the lights and the heat.

Now they're really just messing with us.

I have a theory. I'm sure it's bullshite but it just hit me.

I use griddy as my electricity provider. With griddy you pay like $10 a month membership fee then like some other small fee and you get "wholesale" costs on electricity. I put the quotes because who really knows, but I do normally pay a lot less for my electricity.

One thing griddy always does is send notifications of the current wholesale price per kw/h. Heading into this week they were warning of historically high prices. Last update was nearly $9 per kw/hour. Griddy was actually suggesting customers switch to a different provider so the customer didn't get stuck with that price.

What are the chances the power companies are shutting the power down purposefully so they aren't hit with the huge prices? Not because they can't handle the capacity?

I don't know, power just came on again. I'm not heading to bed unless it's on for at least an hour. I'm sure my theory is just the ramblings of your typical customer upset about having no electricity for the last 24 hours.

Prayers sent for your family... I couldn’t imaging dealing with that especially with kids.

We are getting by. My son had a blast today. No TV, though we did let him play on his tablet a little more than normal. But he was the one that put the tablet down and started playing other games. Just wish he could have had the full snow experience with all this. Instead he had two parents worried about getting too cold in the snow and not being able to warm up properly.

Haha it is almost comical at this point. I have a 1 month old. We will be telling this story for quite some time.

And it's off again.

At least it got the inside temperature up from 51 to something in the 60's. We are going to stay in front of the fireplace tonight even if it comes back on.

Lost it at 8:00 AM. Still waiting.

This the first time I have had a signal to even check the news since then.

This is fricking bullshite.

I Sugar Land here, neighborhood near Crabb River Rd & Grand Parkway. Seems half the hood never lost power. Other half like us, been without since 7:45am yesterday.

Sitting there in living room with others sleeping. All by the fire with lots of blankets and hoodies.
