The winds are more annoying than anything else. Heat blows.

tornadoes

Already addressed it, but not that common. 16 the last 10 years.

Let me handle this one.

IE: Lived in Houston (Cypress area) 9 years
Lived in Dallas (Addison, NE Suburbs Murphy/Sachse) 17

Both are nice but everywhere you go in Houston takes an hour (Win Dallas).

The Cowboys are in Dallas (Win Dallas).

Drugs were cheap in Houston, but I don't do them anymore. (wash).

Dallas has a more diversified employment base
Women - Dallas
Less Mexicans - Dallas

The North Dallas area of Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Murphy etc etc is probably the nicest and fastest growing area in the South/SouthWest

I'm in the Woodlands. There's O&G offices on every other corner around here and Exxon is bringing in more.

The Cowboys are in Arlington.

At least the Texans are in Houston.

Is that where "oil field baws" with truck nuts work?

And you don't like that area??? That and Kingwood are my favorite burbs. Awesome places to raise a family.

Same reason we get storms in the spring. Cold fronts from Canada and warm fronts from the gulf meeting right over Dallas.

Nah, I'm far from one of the typical Austin hipsters. I lived there for 12 years though and it didn't take long to figure out that moving to Houston was a mistake. I knew it was going to be a downgrade of sorts, but never would have though it would be to the degree it is.

Houston people love to think of themselves as living in a better city than Dallas. Dallas people seem not to care about this "rivalry".

This statement won't age well in this thread.

Good point, but not much farther south you don’t have those winds.
