While true, Las Colinas is building commercial left and right. By definition, it is a suburb but if you drive down Las Colinas Blvd, it looks far from it.

I live in Addison (technically Dallas) off of Marsh. If looking for apartments, highly recommend anything on Frankford or Briargrove. Of course, if you want to be closer to the Galleria, you will pay more of a premium, but it takes me literally 5 minutes on normal streets to get to Belt Line, less if I take the DNT.

Better weather: Dallas
Less traffic: Dallas
Better Mexican food: Houston

Though Mexican food is quite important to a Texan Dallas is still better in my opinion and I have lived in both cities.

I live in The Woodlands, because most of Houston is a shithole. The Woodlands is no utopian place as residents want you to believe. This joint is run by crooked cowboys in county government and Mexican Nationals. I don't speak spanish, will not speak spanish, so I will never conform to north Mexico, AKA Houston.

brah, then move somewhere else. seriously.

you sound worse than Eric Yolick and his goldenhammer.

while I am no fan of Noack or any of the other court members, the Township does a pretty good job of maintaining Mitchell's vision.....and I'm no fan of Gordy either.

This is true. Las Colinas also fought to have their name so they wouldn't be brushed into Irving. I lived in Las Colinas and the area is awesome if you have the money to stay near the golfers. Also UD campus is solid when you need to use the fields.

Also, not true. Please stop speaking for XOM. Currently there are no plans for new buildings coming to Woodlands/Spring.

Fred please continue bringing the pain to this HTown hater. Dude is dramatizing every single post. I’m Louisiana thru and thru and some things about Houston I don’t like, but nearly everything he’s stated is complete horseshite

Heb has purchase property in dfw so it's only a matter of time. With that said, I don't get the hype. I have shopped at HEBs plenty and it's no different than Kroger or Tom Thumb. It reminds me of when Dallas had Minyards and people here thought it was so much better

to compare HEB to Kroger tells me all I need to know about your HEB experience/knowledge. HEB products >>>> name brand products. Every single fricking one of them. Go to the HEB off 99 or the one on Lake Woodlands. Get back to me.

Kroger is a grocery store version of Walmart.
HEB is everything that is great about South Texas

Minyards was a carbon copy of Tom thumb. HEB is so much more. HEB Central market here is fricking awesome.

I want to take this guy to HEB during Hatch Season and load him up on some HEB Hatch Season products. If he doesn’t have a renewed appreciation for HEB his Momma didn’t raise him right

Houston is overran by illegals...
Dallas kills presidents...

Both are better than the septic central area that consist of Austin and San Antonio!

We're looking today at a townhouse just off Midway near Beltline, an area in Addison called Towne Lake. Still prefer Addison Circle.

Ewww. Nate’s is absolute garbage and their crawfish sucks. They put some shitty dusting with parsley all over it.

The original dodies, now named Charlie’s creole kitchen, does great crawfish. Perfectly season water with no dusting.

Heads or tails is probably the best, but they only do events. They’re out of a food trailer.

Where is there an HEB off of Lake Woodlands?

And HEB is nice, but we still shop at Kroger directly across the street from HEB. For everyday stuff, it's a little less expensive and less crowded. HEB isn't special enough to me to see a huge difference.

Plus the closest store with curbside pickup is a Kroger. Totally worth the $5 fee. Plus you end up spending less because you don't pick up the random crap you never use anyway.

I know exactly where you are talking about! nice little niche there. Midway is not bad throughout the day. Just avoid beltline after 4:30.

If you live in an affluent part of either city(actually in Houston or Dallas proper), it's pretty much the same-great.

If you live in the suburb of either city, it's pretty much the same-shitty.

I will say the food is better in Houston though.

DFW overall is a better place to live than the Houston Metro area, and I live just south of Pearland HS.

However, I really enjoy Houston for it's diversity of population clusters. Within 20-40 minutes from my house you can be in Galveston, Clear Lake/Kemah, Sugarland, Kirby, Mid Town, Downtown, Med Center and everywhere in between. There's a lot of Louisiana flavor in the region as well. Yes, there's are parts of the metro area that suck....just like every American city. But there are too many nice area to count and so much to do. And the economy is O&G-centric, yes, but there are many other sectors of the economy with solid and growing bases in Houston. I would argue also more exceptional dining establishments to choose from than any other American city as well.

Finally, HEB is a Godsend and Houston is NOT South Texas. I've spent plenty of time in STX and it starts south of Victoria.
