Those lake around dallas are all for boating not fishing. My only gripe with that area. I like granbury and glen rose to the sw myself.

Very underrated city. The Southend corridor is awesome.

Lou, are all the Spec's the same, in terms of quality and selection?

Gonna stop by the one in League City next week, but it looks smaller than the other locations.

Thanks.

No, they aren’t.

Spec locations vary in size and selection.
For example: the one near my house is small and the selection isn’t on par with the one in Midtown or the 2 in the Woodlands.

Yeah, in shitty neighborhoods. Like every other major metropolitan who’s less fortunate citizens live in less desirable areas.

It has the big 3 professional sports franchises along with an MLS team.

Starting here, NYC literally has twice what Houston has. This is true in all other categories. Hell, you say Houston has the "Wall Street" of energy. NYC has the actual Wall Street.

It's a nice city, but Houston has a problem trying to claim best in America.

and things op does not value.

Best art museum.
Best opera
Hockey x 2
20 or 30 times the national hq of companies
Theater x 25
See your restaurant variety and raise you michelin stars x 100
See your 145 languages and raise you the actual u.n. Delegation.

Both quality and kind
NYC > Houston

you could me, but it would be a lot.

Chicago has all the kinds of things cities are good for but way easier to get around.

I lived in Houston for several years, in River Oaks.. sold our home right before the latest oil & gas downturn a few yrs ago.. that area is nice, as is the Inner Loop in general- but Houston as a whole is just way too generic, way too bland, to lay claim to any ‘Best Of’ designation.

As others have mentioned, it’s a liveable , affordable city in comparison to places like NOLA, but i defy you to have people visit and show them anything they couldn’t see or do in 25 other cities, maybe with the exception of NASA if they want to drive down there.. Houston just isn’t nearly unique enough in any area, besides maybe being the most humid.. the best thing about Houston is it’s the closest big city to Baton Rouge for weekend escapes to LSU home games, only about 4 or 5 hrs away.

And in Chicago it’s waaay easier to get killed as an innocent bystander, point Chicago.
