This has changed, and continues to change. Dallas is getting worse not better. Dallas had a good run in the 70s-00's. It's simply not better than Houston is all I'm saying.

Can help create an interesting restaurant scene. Outside of that, I'm not sure.

TBH I'm not sure how anyone can really quantify that exactly.

I mean, Houston is uglier and has really shite weather. For someone who cares about those things it would be a terrible place to live.

I knew this thread would fly like a lead balloon with how much the O-T loves Houston.

Hurricane Katrina refugees being housed in the Houston Astrodome were "underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

It's relatively affordable, and there is no shortage of good food. It's also an ugly city with an insufferable climate.

It doesn't belong anywhere near the top spot.

shite humid weather, yes, but how is it uglier? Dallas has mostly scrubby little trees and Houston has a more impressive downtown.

Won't disagree here, but Houston has those trees too. They're taller up north though.

We need zoning. Then I'd agree.

I've always found that one of the few things that actually makes Houston interesting.

Houston is less manicured, it's much dumpier overall. Both cities look largely flat and burnt out but Houston is worse in that regard. I don't think Dallas is a particularly pretty city either but they do what they can.

Hey we have a Hurricane Harbor in Spring now but Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn aren't that far away either in South Houston (Galveston.)

Granted it’s Ranker, but a lot of these suggest not many people share your opinion on the greatness of strip malls, traffic, and bars packed with last year’s graduating engineering students.
