Bingo. That's a major cause of the financial cliff that Chicago/Illinois continues to face, and I believe it's WAY worse up there. That's how the democrats help cement their power in the cities...we give the public sector unions an insane deal on the backs of taxpayers and you keep voting for us.

This is just for Chicago. $30 billion in unfunded liabilities. They baked guaranteed benefits increases into the state constitution and the only way to overturn it is through the courts and a ballot referendum...but lo and behold, the judges are all in line to receive pension benefits. They're fricked. They did it to themselves (Houston and Chicago). And Chicago has one of the highest overall tax burdens in the country already.

This is true of most cities and many states. Living off of federal funds (our tax dollars) is finally coming to an end.

The article says we are spending $150-$200 million more annually than bringing in. There are over 2 million people in the city and almost 7 million in the city. So we could all pay an additional $30 annually but instead there will be a new tax that will cost me like $1,000+ and they will create new bullshite jobs and departments and find ways to give more money to the leeches

I’ve lived in both for over 10 years. Neither cities are shitholes. Both have problems. Both have opportunities.

My experiences in Houston far outweigh what I experienced in BR. Other than LSU, all BR had to offer was being near things I enjoy, such as family and fun.

Inside the loop they turned a bunch of 4 way streets into 2 lane streets with fancy bike lanes. I rarely see anyone using them (and I actually do). I do see a lot of cars hit the barriers on Waugh all the time.

Yep. I’m going to have $600 water bills if we have another summer like last.

The conversion of water sources, at least in Fort Bend, screwed me for a decade. Water and sewage, in March of 2022, $21.50 each. ($43) The North Fort Bend Water Authority fee? $51. That's in March, *with* a weather aware sprinkler system. Water bill, due to the NFBWA fee, was four times that during the summer after I went Rachio. Before I went Rachio, my bills were routinely in the $450 range and everything was still dying. Because of the NFBWA fee.

Rachio cut my bill bigly. Houston proper is a dump.

It's very easy. There are other vendors that can be cheaper, but they came in 8 or 16 zone units (of course I think I had nine zones.) One techie warning, at least with Rachio, is that connecting to wifi was a bit of a pain, it didn't like a bonded 2.4/5Ghz network. That seems to be a thing with garage door devices, too. I had to do ten minutes of playing around to set it up, but never had to touch it again.

Nobody at the bus stop believed me, so I started bringing copies of before and after bills to hand to the dads. I don't think there is anyone that still has a dumb sprinkler left.

Appreciate that. I should be ok since it will integrate to my hub. The rain bird I have now is WiFi enabled and I run the seasonal adjustment but it seems to really suck balls.

would somebody like tell me when the frick she stopped the anchor thing.
Forgive me I don't live in Houston.

After further review, she is now on YouTube doing stuff in her bra. I respect her decision.
