My Contract with TXU is up and they're offering a pretty shitty new deal.

All the cheapest rates are with small companies with names like " discount energy" or some shite and I'm scared they're gonna kill me with hidden fees.

I have TriEagle Energy and have been satisfied with them. No hidden fees. You can find a little cheaper if you want to take a chance but I like reliability over the cheapest option.

I have Ambit and have used IGS energy. You can also visit this site and compare: LINK

Look up the lowest kwh. The provider wont change, only the billing. I switch every 6-12 months if needed. Have Green Mountain of all things currently.

Idk, my wife just changed it to some kumbaya hippy sounding company.

Read contract for hidden fees, though typically they are pretty transparent.

Currently using Champion. At the time it was the cheapest of anything not horrifically rated.

I try to find the lowest price for the longest term so I don't have to call in every 3 to 6 months. I'm with Direct Energy for 2 yrs for about 8-9 cents/kwh. That includes the charge from the energy provider Oncor.

Power to choose.com

I assume that’s the site already linked. Just shop. Cheapest rate and least fees is the winner. Change as needed.

What you got to watch for is the lowest rates quoted are for specific amounts of energy usage. Prices can vary big if you go over or under.

Look at your Txu account and figure out your past kWh usage and go from there.

I got a smoking deal with reliant last year. When I had to re sign this year rates for everyone had climbed. I stayed with Reliant on a returning customer discount they had but my overall rate did go up.

Just moved to Dallas a few months ago, and actually built a spreadsheet with a lot of the providers and their plans to see what came out cheaper for our expected consumption .

There aren't many fixed rate providers these days. It's a bigger pita now than several years ago.

You must be at the end of your 2 years if you're getting 8 cents including provider fee.

Green Mountain. Have been happy with them for several years. Nobody has given us a better deal, so far.

Just started using Think Energy. Used Reliant for a year and then they raised their price after contract was up which is the racket that is energy contracts. Have used Gexa before too.
