It all depends on what you're looking for in the city/town.

Morgan City/Berwick/Bayou Vista area offers great fishing/hunting.

Public schools are pretty damn good.

One huge con is the housing market (pricing/availability).

Back in the day The Rat was the shite. MC used to be a booming little town. Local politics held it back and in the late 80’s and 90’s when the major oil companies bailed for Fourchon, Venice, Houston and NOLA it was devastating

I second this. Latin corner is a special jewel. Hopefully expanding to other areas. Atchafalaya for ambiance but not food imo.

I will say one of the best things about MC is getting fresh shrimp right off the boat anywhere they park. Cheaper price than supermarket and fresher tasting than anything on the fricking planet.

Saw hick last night. Probably will Again tonight after I hit up the legion.

I saw Hick walking on Menard St yesterday around lunch time. Always figured he was allergic to sunlight like a vampire.

I went to Rene’s a few weeks ago for the first time in years. Two of my buds were at the bar so I bought them a drink, along with one for myself... a crown and coke and two beers... $8.50.

Morgan City and Houma are trash.

Thibodaux sucks but much less trashy.

There isn't a doubt about this.

The difference here is that all of Houma's bayou towns feed into it. Sure, Houma has it's own trash, but the surrounding trash flocks to it for everything as well. On the other hand, Thibodaux has similar level of trash to Houma when looking at those that actually live there (who sends their kid to public school in Thib?). But the surrounding rural crappy areas of Thibodaux still go to Houma for everything, because there isn't anything to do in Thibodaux. So Houma gets triple trash while Thibodaux gets just the one segment of trash.

Workers at McDdermott voting to going Union certainly didn't help Morgan City. McDermott finished the job they was building and moved everything to Mexico.

Compared to the rest of downtown they are by far the cheapest. shite coon charges almost piazza prices for booze. I can get a beer and three shots at renes for under 10 bucks.
