So on a scale of Disney Springs to Cortana, how safe is the Galleria? I remember it being ok back in the day

I'd say Epcot on that scale. I was shocked to find out that The Galleria is still as nice as I remembered it to be. They still have the ice rink going strong.

What’s the best route to take driving from Hilton Americans to NRG? Safest ha

Main Street is likely the best route.

But take the metro. It runs down the middle of Main Street thru downtown. While the Hilton Americas and Marriott are really nice hotels, there is a JW Marriot on Main with a metro stop a half block away. Less expensive is a Courtyard by Marriot a block away.

We walked the 7-8 city blocks from the station to the Hilton Americas (which is a great hotel) and felt very unsafe. Same thing years ago when we walked from Minute Maid Park to the Hyatt after an Astros game.

I mean, shite can happen anywhere, but that is not an "unsafe" area of town. Especially the walk from the Hilton to Minute Maid.

I am in Houston all the time. The Galleria is a very nice area with hotels in all price ranges and more restaurants and bars than you could count. Stay there. It’s safe, fun and expensive.
