The charges he caught didn't rise to the level of being held without bond.

And I have repeatedly said I have no problem with the charges he's facing.

Me and all my homies routinely cross state lines with multiple guns and book a solo hotel room overlooking crowded events. We also leave those multiple guns loaded on the windowsill. Not one bit fishy. I thought this was AMERICA

You realize how fricking stupid this sounds?

"Cross state lines", pretty much anyone who has ever gone on vacation or a business trip

"Multiple guns", aka 2, which many people who carry, especially if they are traveling to a violent shite hole, would consider reasonable

"Solo hotel room", is he supposed to bunk up with strangers he meets in the lobby?

"Overlooking crowded events", most hotels in Chicago are in tall buildings surrounded by crowded streets

The fantasies you have created in your head about this are sad. Meanwhile, do you know how many children were actually murdered by real bullets in Chicago this weekend?

He talked. I just disputed your statement. The police have interviewed him.

Guy probably had his gun because he’s in frickin Chicago and didn’t want to die and now everyone thinks they stopped the next Vegas shooting.

It read like something a local intern at a TV station would write. Just a bunch of meaningless buzz words.

Now put all of them together. That's what makes it suspicious.

Hard to believe the level of violence that anti gun city has.

Maybe people should be carrying for protection.

Just because the police interviewed him doesn’t mean he said a damn thing about his intentions. Did you really think I meant that the police arrested someone under these circumstances and didn’t ask him questions? Also, from the info in the article, he is still being held as he hadn’t posted bond at the time of the article.

In your mind. Meek people generally are afraid of everything.

Its easy to string stuff together when you know 1/10th of the story except very basic points, and nothing backs it being nefarious at this point.

"Just because the police talked to him doesnt mean he admitted what I want him to say."

If they thought in the least this guy was dangerous, he would not be on the street today.

Ok, agree to disagree

A little context for you. My family has a lakehouse in Northern Wisconsin. If I was up there in the fall at the bar, I wouldn't think twice about 20-30 people in the bar sitting there with rifles.

If I were to walk out of my condo today and see someone walking the street with a rifle my reaction would be very different.

As much as you'd like it to be so, the setting matters, and downtown Chicago is very different for this situation than the boonies, where I presume you reside.

Possible, but the area of Chicago he was in isn’t really dangerous. People who only know Chicago from what they read on these boards thinks the crime/murder is a city wide issue. It’s pretty segregated to areas of town Well away from the W. That doesn’t mean one can’t be a victim of crime there, but most people feel very safe walking the streets in that area.

Why is he free? Are the Chicago police so retarded they can' find charges to hold a dangerous person?

If they thought for a second he was guilty of something nefarious, he would still be in jail
