Possibility of weapons being planted in this person room ?

For comparison...a somewhat similar situation, from our lovely DA.
4 men, 4 guns, a 50-round ammo magazine, but only 1 felony charge from prosecutors? That’s Chicago.

Chicago police seized four weapons and a 50-round ammunition magazine after officers saw four men openly displaying guns amidst a large gathering outside a Near West Side housing complex early Saturday, authorities said.
But prosecutors only approved felony charges against one of the accused men. All of the others, charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon, were released on recognizance bonds.
The decision to only pursue misdemeanors against men accused of openly displaying guns during a late-night gathering on the Fourth of July weekend may reflect new priorities in the office of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

Possible, yes. Probable, no.

You were given all of that information and still think he wasn't planning anything horrible?
Then you put

We don't know if he put do not disturb on the door and the maid walked in anyway. We don't know if he just forgot because he was a fricking crazy person. We don't know if the maid came back a second time that day and he didn't expect that.
Okay. So he did something suspect, police did their job, they released him with charges that relate to a specific city, in a very regulated state.
You think I'm nuts, but he didn't do anything wrong, nobody got killed, he got released and charged.
This won't go over but free country and innocent until proven guilty. If he had intentions they would have kept him. I'm sure more than Chicago PD would be involved as well.

If it happened as reported
This is the key. If as reported, that's one thing. But... it also could be that the dude was in Chicago because he has family or buddies there. Or was on a guys weekend or a million other reasons. Maybe he normally keeps the guns in his car but didn't want to because of crime. So he puts them in his room leaning on a chair by the window and the maid sees them and loses her shite.
We probably won't ever know but there are lots of ways this could be blown out of proportion and the politics of it make that just as likely as him being a wanna be mass murderer.

Tom Cruise is fapping with excitement over his soon to be created law enforcement agency. Now he just needs to find some precogs.

All we know is the dude had a loaded gun in a hotel room.
Thats it.

He still has to go back to Chicago for hearings so I’m sure more information will come out. A few articles mention the rifle didn’t have a serial number but I don’t know how true that is
Posted on 7/7/21 at 12:21 pm to jbgleason
Right, but it's still a crime in Chicago to posses an unlicensed weapon. They didn't throw the guy in gitmo. They handled it how it was supposed to be handled given the info at the time. They handled it how I'd want it to be handled if me and my family were on that beach.
If a guy was driving 120mph on the highway and almost runs me off the road, I don't care if it turns out he just had to take a shite. I just want him off the road at that moment.

If something had happened so many would be pumping false flag bullshite. This sounds suspicious enough, so good for the house keeper.

You said he was doing nothing suspicious
Just stop.
This is crazy suspicious and very alarming. I agree there aren't big charges because he didn't doing anything wrong...yet. And I agree other shootings are being buried for this.
But he was definitely doing something very, very bizarre and he needs to be watched closely. Nothing about that is normal behavior with a firearm and I'm a proud gun-owner.

Correct.
It may have happened 100% as reported. He may have even had bad intentions and planned on some huge mass killing spree.
However, it's hard to ignore the fact that Chicago has become a literal killing field averaging 50+ shooting and 10 people killed each week. Instead of addressing the "root causes" of these issues, the Mayor of the city is more concerned with the color of the skin of reporters who ask her questions and blaming neighboring states with more lax gun laws (and far less gun crime, btw) for why her citizens have guns to shoot each other...as if these gang bangers are rolling in to Bob's Firearms in Ames and going through all the procedure to buy and acquire a gun.
Given all of that, I'm skeptical of a story like this that seems to fit the narrative so perfectly at the very time it would be most needed to divert attention away from the horrendous situation in the city.

I never said he should be thrown in jail.
But there are several people in this thread defending this behavior as normal or not suspicious. It is very alarming behavior that no normal person or gun owner would do.
shite, even leaving your chambered rifle out unattended for housekeeping staff you don't know is extremely poor gun safety. And that's not even getting into the fact it was perched on a window sill with a strong scope overlooking a crowd with 5 loaded magazines ready to go.
