Well, my wife does the job and in the same hospital as Ming Lin. He's full of shite! He was on a contract not a permanent employee of the hospital. He shite talked the hospital everyday on social media. They don't really have an big issue with the masks because they use PAPRs with COVID-19 patients...of which they only have two or three positive and a few possibles in the hospital. they are putting nurses on call because they don't have that many patients. the hospital is not over run. They hospital also bought scrubs so the staff don't have to wear their own. Its a major corporation and its based out of Canada (good luck suing), they are also union so they have it pretty damn good. The dude was a drama queen and NOT a whistle blower.

The news is overblowing issues that have or are currently being resolved.

You are being sold a situation that is far overblown.

Take NYC.

There is no shortage of ventilators. There is no overrun medical system.

Y’all are buying into bullshite narratives to drive tv views.

Most companies have a standard policy that only authorized personnel should talk to the media. It’s grounds for being fired at almost any company. Maybe the doctors shouldn’t be idiots and break really obvious company policies

And you learn it like the first week of employment there and have to do annual training to refresh the policy.

At least that is the case with my hospital.

My question is....how many of these HCWs ranting on FB and naming where they actually work (DUMB MOVE) have tried to go about the appropriate channels to voice their concerns? Did they even try going up the chain of command?

That is literally one truck load of PPE. One. If the us shipping one container of PPE to China brings us to our knees, maybe we should rethink foreign aide completely.

Also, wouldn’t it seem prudent to send assistance to try and contain the spread at the source and prevent it from getting here?

Show me where I said the census is up.

This is about not having PPE, which I know firsthand is a problem right now. I'm not buying into shite, I'm living it.

It is dumb to air it out on Facebook if you want to keep your job, but you know as well as I do that the chain of command isn't going to do anything.

People at my work have questioned it. They were blown off and told how it's perfectly fine to re-use N95's multiple times. The person said fine, you go take care of them and do it. It was not well received.

Unless it’s for incompetence that a patient died as a result of, I don’t think hospitals are going to be firing doctors right now.

Well that would certainly qualify as a wrongful termination claim. And the employee would win.

Plenty of businesses have rules about talking about company business to the media. These doctors and RN drama queens are employees.

I don't think it's as cut and dried as you think it is.

And I would have fired them in a heartbeat as well.

Not backorder. They forgot.

For one, I'd fire your GF.

For two, the lazy, incompetent clown in purchasing needs to hoist their likely fat arse out of the chair and cruise down to Wally and buy some gloves.

Who the frick are you? Do you work in a hospital? The lack of PPE is real assclown. Providers are being asked to recycle masks in areas only mildly effected

For one, judging by your posting here, you're not smart enough to be in a position to fire her.

For two, you're dumb enough to believe there are enough gloves laying around at Wal-Mart to stock a hospital?

Just how stupid are you? Don't answer that.

Speaking of Walmart and gloves....

I actually saw a woman with a box of gloves at Walmart (guess she found a box right after it was stocked). She was opening the box there in the store and putting gloves on right there. Didn’t see her use hand sanitizer right before either.

I wanted to point out to her that what she did isn’t gonna help her and that she actually just contaminated the whole box of gloves with everything she touched in the store prior to finding that box of gloves.....but figured it was a battle I would not win so just walked away.

Far from dumb Mr. Drama Queen.

Do I post a number of things for reaction? Of course.

Now, go cry somewhere else.

Railroads are union.

Right in the massive rulebook everyone is issued it states you will not speak to the media about anything concerning the company.

Have a derailment and tell the local news broad that the track was bad?

You will be fired.

Eh, what's the point at that point? She has some peace of mind at least.

I just kept shaking my head the entire time I was shopping. People wearing gloves but on their phones.

Digging in their purse at the register....with the gloves on.

Touching their faces....with the gloves on

Walking out the bathroom....gloves on

Yikes

It's still a huge problem even when trying to use it correctly. Something is always getting contaminated even with the correct PPE. You can't tell me that re-using a mask doesn't contaminate your head and neck when you try to put it on again. It's simply impossible.

Only time we are reusing masks are just for staff to wear in general (I have to wear one as well). And only until they get soiled or lose integrity. They can also wear ones homemade as well as long as it meets certain criteria.

I just sewed some buttons on a headband cause my ears are getting sore from having it on all day in my office.

If staff are going into an actual patient room under any type of isolation...they are supposed to swap out the mask they wear all day for a new mask and toss the isolation mask after they leave the room.

We are not needing to reuse N95s for any suspect or confirmed COViD cases cause we have enough stock. We are looking at UVing in between uses if that changes.

Only time we reuse N95s is if it’s a TB or rule out TB patient.
