My gf left work the other night because her hospital didn't order gloves.

Did she take report on a patient assignment before she up and left?

Because that can be considered patient abandonment and she can lose her license for that.

Some of the nurses I know have been offered 10k a week to work in NOLA or NYC. That’s how bad the demand is. And people still turn it down because of the conditions.

Two of my buddy’s wives were trying to get moved to NO for the money. They were told they weren’t needed.

I wonder which one is true?

No one is saying that. If they have a problem they should go to the hospital administrators not instagram or the Washington post.

frick that. Admins just say go to work and don’t worry about it.

quote:

Weve been fricked by manufacturing our supplies outside of the country and we're getting caught with our pants down. Nothing anyone can do but make sure with what we have.

We’ve been fricked because we are not nationally prepared for a pandemic. Doesn’t mean doctors and nurses can’t tell their story.

Everyone already knows. The hospital administrators can do that. They dont need crying nurses posting to Facebook in the middle of their shifts.

Published interviews have directly led to donations that were not being made before, so either admins aren’t doing enough or can’t do enough. If a nurse wants to vent about the shite fricking situation they are in then let them. Who cares? You don’t have to read it.

Really? That's an absolute undeniable fact?

Having no PPE is a matter of materials, materials of which we do not create here and require international shipping to acquire.

Not only that, much of the supplies that was going to be shipped was used in the country of origin for their own pandemic responses.

Its absolutely a fact that our manufacturing supply chain existing overseas has made this difficult in terms of PPE and ventilators.

In how many cases? And it was the interview and nothing else? There are a LOT of channels recommending people/businesses/organizations donate their PPE. Could be any number of channels that landed.

Seems you have a tribalistic view of the situation without speaking to anyone actually going through this shite.

So are hospitals expected to provide hazmat suits to every employee in the building now?.

No just what the cdc recommends, definitely should allow healthcare workers to wear their own n95 masks.
