Horrific Accident on FM1960 in Houston

Didn't pay attention to the intersection but an ambulance was going east on 1960 towards the hospital with I assume someone in the back. A Lexus SUV pulled out from a side street and the Ambulance absolutely flattenned it right across the front. First emergency people to arrive was a firetruck. They were cutting the driver out the Lexus out when we finally got through the intersection.

They had Lexus dealerships 58 years ago?

Was 100% expecting a vintage pic of some kick arse wreck.
I am highly disappoint.

1960 is a major road in houston/humble area. Is it a freeway in some areas now? My parents lived in Atasocita when 1960 was still a 2 lane road in many areas.

Time for some folks to get The Texas Hammer on the case

Do they require emergency vehicles to slow or stop at intersections in Texas?
If not that’s a stupid way to kill more people

It's more a freeway now, epecially in that area. I thought emergency vehicles had something to change the signal lights to green? It was damn sure moving at a good speed. The Lexus was destroyed. The firefighters were visably shaken up. One of them fell on the road trying to grab something off the truck.

Thinking the same thing.
Goddamn...this place is so corrupting to the soul

I wasn't taking pics of that. I'll be shocked if the person in that Lexus is alive.

There was another ambulance involved in an accident this morning. They swerved to avoid another vehicle that swerved into them and hit a telephone pole.

I'd rather cut my nuts off than drive on 1960. Place is ripe full of danger. 3 lanes each way everyone going 50mph, signs obstructing views.
frick that road.
frick that road.

Last Saturday I was two minutes behind a four car collision on the Lake Houston Bridge. One person was medevaced to Hermann Hospital.
Considering the alternative I didn't mind returining to Humble and down to I-10 and back to Louisiana.

So the type of wreck that occurs everyday in every large city. Nice thread. Nice pics. Nice prayers for the injured. You're better than that
