I recently went through the process to get my CCL and while somewhat of a pain it was only a few hours of going between the probate office and filling out the paperwork then paying a fee afterward I was fingerprinted over at our county jail.

Three weeks later to the day I was issued the license after the GBI background check came through.

My field has me out in some odd hours and when I fuel up I have something to back me up. That's it.

I bought a Taurus 380 so if I am hauled into court by a liberal city DA hell bent on the gun control it doesn't even look like a pistol!

I did just purchase a C308 battle rifle for the home front and people now know I have it with plenty of G3 20 round clips and 1000 rounds of brown bear crap to sling out if they come after my family and or stuff.
I don't tote it to Walmart and the Taurus is inconspicuous if I feel a risk deems it.

I'm not looking to hurt anyone but, I will help stop a threat and if that's aimed at you when We are both fueling up late one night then someone like me might be all that's between you and a headstone.

How would people train themselves with their firearms if they can't afford more than one box of ammunition without defaulting on their mortgage
If you would default on your mortgage to buy bullets, you're an idiot. BTW what are you training for?

I've been saying for years. Raise the price on ammunition. Raise the taxes on them to were a box of bullets costs around $10K. That way people still have their guns, hunters have ammunition and everyone is happy. If you can't afford a box that's on you.

That's so fricking stupid.

Wanna know how I know you've never seen someone make their own ammo?

It's amazing how the comments in this thread prove him right. America has an absurd and unhealthy obession with guns.

I know a guy that buys a case of ammo every payday. I ask him why and he answers "why not?" Those I've come across who have an absurd amount of guns always have this attitude; they don't know why they have or want guns - just because.

Agreed, but I'll add that America is deeply in denial regarding mental illness. Every on of these mass shootings is a fricking mental case that has had prior issues.

Parenting isn't going to fix this cultivated, poisonous sense of paranoia and fear we have in this country.

I had a conversation with 2 aussies just this past week and guns came up in wake of the Laffayette shooting.

Pretty much guns are legal there for hunting purposes. Meaning you can't have a handgun just a rifle. The aussie also told me that if we paid $1000 for a shot gun here in the states that same shot gun will cost to equivalent to $30000 in Australia.

I then went on an made a joke that we have "gun dispensaries" here in the states, aka wal-mart. The aussies thought that was funny.

I buy a good bit of ammo when I see deals because shooting 750rds in a weekend class isn't out of the question. The guys who buy all the 22 at Walmart and just sit on it are douchebags though

Funny how all the people who want guns banned are standing on the side that would get to keep theirs
