One of my best girl friends went to Episcopal and my gf went to SJA. I was Woodlawn Trash. We all three went to LSU.

But It never fails when we're together drinking they end up spouting ignorance about something.
I'll tell them their parents need refunds on that HS tuition.

I get what you mean.
STA is definitely more 'country' than DTHS. It has to do with the parents. DTHS families typically moved just far enough out of BR to the I-10 HWY 73 exit to escape crime and be in a great school district, but still work and play in Baton Rouge.

STA Families have been out there for generations. And the newer residents WANTED to get far away from Baton Rouge to a great school district, even if they have to commute to BR for work.

From my personal experience in honors/duel enrollment classes at both. The quality of teaching was much higher at DTOWN. The classes were more challenging at DTOWN. I did experience that the relationships with the teachers at EA was better. The teachers at EA seemed to be much more caring. Obviously these are generalizations and it did vary.

Edit: Also did see a kid do a bump of coke at the track at DTOWN during PE. At EA all of the bathrooms (especially the one towards the front left of the school) seemed to be hookah bars for kids partaking in the devils lettuce.

Dutchtown has lacrosse (men’s) which is pretty cool for highschools around here. Not sure if any others do except Catholic. Nice change of pace from traditional Louisiana sports.

True. I tried to get my son to go out for DTHS Lacrosse but he didn't want to.
They play a full season that does requires more travel than most sports. But it's a great sport they can continue to play at the college level for club teams or even varsity if they end up being good at it.

They already picked the Hurricanes for Prairieville High. I’ve heard that Prairieville Middle and Galvez Middle will be the feeder schools.

I think there’s going to be a big shakeup of feeder schools/district lines if they want to level out the kids.

I’m 5 miles closer to Dutchtown than EA but we’re in the EA district.

Racial demographics is not important. Would rather look at socioeconomic class break down.

In Louisiana, there isn't much difference between the two; however, the socioeconomic class at Dutchtown is better.

I’ve seen comments from one of the school board members suggesting a complete redraw. Also, the stated purpose of the new HS is to take students d
from Dutchtown, St Amant and EA.

There was a nice messy lawsuit years ago about all this shite.
If you're bored, go research this bullshite.
FindLaw Lewis vs AP Schools. Performance related to DTHS/EA/STA.

I went to STA and I'm mid 20s making about 130k a year sitting behind a desk. I wish my parents would have spent a ton of money so I could succeed in life...

What exactly do you do? Engineer? Planner at a plant?
You should mentor these Ascension Parish sophomores when they need to decide whether to go the 4 yr university path or votec/cc route.

It probably should be a complete redraw. There’s kids along 621 being forced to go to East Ascension. That just should not happen
