Really messed up.
As a homeowner/gun owner you're absolutely supposed to do exactly what grandpa did, but then again you have to worry about trigger happy cops killing you!

A resident who had just shot and killed an intruder was shot and killed himself by Aurora police early Monday morning.

Neighbors described the man shot by an officer as a long-time resident, grandfather and retired family man who often tended to his front gardens.

Eh they smoke pot over there. No loss

They thought he was a Golden Retriver.
Goldies can be a mild annoyance to cops. Can’t leave things like that to chance.

Homeowner was a known Clinton associate.

There’s a huge lack of details right here. Not so sure I want to jump to conclusions just yet.

Police described the scene as chaotic. Upon arriving, officers heard gunshots fired from inside the home, and encountered an armed man, police said. An officer fired his gun, hitting the man who turned out to be a resident. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Police can say whatever the hell they want. Just because they say it doesn’t make it so

At what point do you want to jump to conclusions?

So this is where we follow the well worn pattern of an investigation, a grand jury no billing the case after the DA presents favourable evidence to the officer, civil lawsuit, a settlement paid out by the town, (but not the officer or department), and its forgotten in a month.

Several people called 911
Including the wife.
You HAVE TO COMMUNICATE WITH DISPATCH THAT THE HOMEOWNER IS A GUN OWNER.

Just like I don't freak out when some black dude gets shot - I need to know the context of the situation.

Speaking of jumping to conclusions...

The only premature freaking out allowed is when an officer is shot.
Serious question though - if a homeowner is fired upon by the police, does he have a right to defend himself? If this guy fires back at the officer who just tried to kill him mistakenly, does he have any defense in a court of law?
