Homeowner Insurance question

Buying a house and looking at insurance quotes. I've been with State Farm for the past 20 years -- have our vehicles, our current house and a small life insurance policy through them. Never had any issues.
Whoops...
Hit submit too soon.
Anyway, State Farm quote came back high. Interested in looking elsewhere.
Any recommendations?
Liberty Mutual came back $650 lower annually. Others were similar, so it seems State Farm is on average $500-600 more a year.
Just looking for some guidance.

State Farm is high as giraffe pussy in the NOLA area. You should probably shop your rates.

None of your post is a question.
Subject should be “Homeowner Insurance statements”.

Why wouldn’t you go with Liberty Mutual?

I switched to American Strategic. Have had no claims but their reviews are pretty good. Was much cheaper than Chubb.

Did you ask your husband what he thinks?

Only recommendation is look for good agents near by.
I live in a rural area so at first I had a local insurance, but vehicles were USAA. Ended up just leaving USAA.
I will always probably keep house with this insurance, but will shop around in the future for my auto. (Usually pay annually or semi for autos)

Good idea to compare coverages just to make sure everything is on par. Are they both Replacement cost? Are the Deductibles the same? Contents coverage?

Coverages are the same. I'd heard that State Farm was trying to get out of writing new homeowner policies in LA, but they didn't hesitate to drop me a quote -- or course it was significantly higher than the other quotes.
Does anyone here have Liberty Mutual? Any horror stories or positive experiences? Most of the online reviews are all over the place, but they seem to be that way for most of the carriers -- so it isn't much help.

I have State Farm and feel they were reasonable.

Go with the cheapest quote you can find. Highest deductible. Only plan on filing a claim if you have total loss. They’ll screw you no matter what in the end but better take your chances and save your money each year.

I have Liberty Mutual. The deductible is a little higher for wind damage, but they will at least cover. If you live in Rapides Parish on south, avoid Allstate. They don't like hurricanes or tornados.

Had state farm for the past 14 years. Had auto with them then packaged with homeowners when I purchased my house. Rates have increased dramatically on auto over the past year so I shopped around and went with Safeco through an independent agent. Both homeowners and auto were cheaper. Increased limits on some items and additional coverages not had through state farm plus added flood insurance and still saved $1k on what I was paying through state farm.

Safeco rates are awesome right now if you fit their appetite (no claims, married, homeowner, good credit).
Also, they just sold a shitton of their oil reserves, so they've got some capital to "buy" the market.

State Farm is insanely high compared to every other quote or coverage I’ve ever had.
Their rep claims it has to do with the cost difference in being paid what something is worth vs true replacement value. That explains some of the cost differences but not roughly $600-800 of difference compared to other quotes on the same property.
