Holy shite that's awesome. Brings back so many memories growing up in Huntsvegas at that time.

I didn't grow up in Huntsville but those kids were the same age as me in 1986. Good times.

That convenience store portion is hilarious. Can definitely remember making multiple trips to the register with shitty candy until my money ran out.

We had a store called Pack A Sack that was later a 7/11 about a mile from our house. We used to ride our bikes up there almost every day during the summer and buy junk.

Ours was a Zippy Mart, and we pretty much went every day in the summer as well. One of the cashiers there would sell us titty mags and Skoal. He was creepy as hell and always asking about our moms.

I remember when we got a convenience store within bike riding distance of our neighborhood when I was living in the Huntsville 'burb of Meridianville. It was almost a daily ritual in the summer for me and my friends to bike up there and spend our pocket change on candy, coke, jerky, etc.

That’s mighty fine resolution for a video camera circa 1989.

thank god i grew up with the internet

The 80s was a better time to grow up than today. Technology is great and all but it also causes a lot of issues. It was a simpler time to be a kid/teen.

I'll check this out for sure..

I came across this documentary the other day on Youtube and enjoyed the hell out of it. This isn't a home video, but there is something about the 90s vhs quality film that is so damn nostalgic, and it makes me feel good.

This film tells the tale of a close-knit Appalachian family that has changed little in the last 100 years.

There was a follow up video that auto played last night w/ Darrell calling Larry and talking to him when the video hit 300K views.

They agreed that Larry would come on Darrell's show or podcast and talk about the old days. I don't know if they ever did it, though.
