HOME INVASION on Highland Rd - Bodies of homeowners found at Hammond truck stop

What We Know:
The victims are Denis and Suzzane Duplantier - members of a very well-known family in Baton Rouge. They were strangled.

Victims' truck had been in the truck stop's parking lot since Sunday, 10/18/15

Police found the home open with an empty safe after receiving a call for a welfare check at 10:15pm Monday, 10/19/15.

Victims' truck was used to transport victims to the Petro truck stop in Hammond, LA along I-12.

Looking for a 2007 White Chevrolet truck (license plate C287533).

They were kidnapped.

Authorities are looking for two persons of interest.

Victims were found in the back seat.

Identity of those persons of interest is known but they're not releasing it as of now.

The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed the two bodies found in a vehicle at a truck stop near I-12 in Hammond were a man and woman missing from Baton Rouge.

Police said they received a call around 10:15 p.m. to make a welfare check at a home on Highland Road. Responding officers reported finding the house open. They added the homeowners and their vehicle were missing.

Investigators said there was no sign of a struggle in the home, just that the door was open.

The names of the victims have not been released.
