Good afternoon fellow Rantards.

I'm looking for some high level info on building a home. I already have the land and am looking to build.

Do any of you have some insight into the cost per square foot, assuming relatively "upscale" amenities? IE, wood floors, granite counter tops, vaulted ceilings, crown molding, ect, ect. Bonus points if you can price in a decent sized back porch with an out door kitchen!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Upscale can cost as much as you want to spend. If the land isn’t included in the figure, I’d guess somewhere between $150-$200 sq ft for something really nice.

Well you can start by giving the board an idea as to where you live.

Buddy of mine builds and has told me $100/sq ft for basic $125-$130/sq ft for upscale finishes. This does not include cost associated with acquiring land.

This, and I would say since you mentioned that you are building yourself, you are not looking to use a contractors standard type plans, you would probably be starting around $110/SF for basic stuff

Based on all the information provided, my guess would be between $125-$1,000/sf.

135 a square for basic wood granite, etc with shite you can pick out at your local building supply stores for knobs, faucets, cabinets and shite like that.

You get into custom everything, heart of pine flooring, and more elegant finishings you get into the 200 per foot range.

A nice, well equipped outdoor kitchen will be another 20-50k depending on what you want to put in it. You can spend a shite ton on outdoor appliances, lighting, ceiling finishes, audio visual, fireplaces, and on and on.
